"good hotel, perfect location"
the hotel is located very close (5 minutes walking) to the old city, where You have a lot of possibilities to spend Your free time. Although the hotel itself is very quiet and peacefull. Additionally it offers You delicious breakfast, gym and sauna. I stayed for a few months for a bussiness trip in several hotels in Bratislava and Falkensteiner is my best choice!
"Business stay over"
Stated here for one night on business - arrived late went out for dinner then slept here left very early next day. Staff efficient but bland, bedroom good quality comfy bed and clean linen. Air conditioning would not turn off in bedroom - pain Bar service was good with perfect Aperol Spritz cocktail. Breakfast basic but good selection with a chef on egg station. Would go back for sure
"Generally good but a few bad points"
We visited this hotel for our wedding anniversary and chose it for its location and the spa facilities too and we have stayed in a Falkensteiner in Croatia which was great. Location is great, a short walk under the subway and you're in the old town and the castle is also 10 minutes walk. As everyone else said, the breakfast was great - I can't think of anything else I would like for breakfast that wasn't there! It was a bit confusing on the first morning, nobody welcomed or greeted us and we just wandered in and started to help ourselves. We realised after trying and failing to use the coffee machine that for a long coffee you needed to ask the staff for those. The spa was a nice treat but a little odd that you had to ring reception in advance so they could turn it on and also that you only had one robe in the double room on a booking for two peoole and had to get another from reception. But it was nice to spend an hour or so in there and we had it to ourselves too. The staff were generally very pleasant but when we first arrived (early, at 11am) we only wanted to dump our bags before heading into town until check in and the lady on reception finished on the phone and was quite rude, not letting me explain before telling me we were too early to check in and to come back later. I just said I was only wanting to leave our bags and she just pointed to the luggage room. Wasn't impressed! The guy that did check us when we came back at 5pm was lovely though. Another thing was the room cleaning/service staff. All I can say is lock your room door as soon as you enter!! On out check out day (our wedding anniversary too) it was becoming a joke. The first staff member knocked at 8:30am and then it continued maybe 5 times after breakfast - at one point when we'd been up to the spa and come back and hadn't locked the door, she came in and I was half naked. I just had time to grab something to cover my upper body but it was two taps on the door and then in. I have never experienced such repetitive intrusion before, especially when the check out is noon. We did put the do not disturb sign on the door on two nights but we were near the lift and drunks making their way back to their rooms in the early hours meant it didn't remain there and I didn't see it after then. It ruined the morning of our anniversary having constant knocks and feeling like we were being pushed out when we just wanted to relax and take advantage of late check out before our late flight. I've worked in hotels cleaning rooms and you check which rooms have checked out before trying to get in to clean'! We didn't sleep too well as between the room and bathroom is a glass panel which let the light in from sunrise. In short, the location is great and so is the breakfast but I'd probably stay elsewhere next time. I'm sure it's great for business but not for a romantic break.
"Good hotel - great location "
Really nice business hotel with a great location in central Bratislava. Easy walking distance to the old town and business areas. Close to restaurants and bars. Good breakfast and nice bar area. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Only down side for me is that they had a smoking room downstairs at the back of the bar and it made the whole area smell unpleasant. Also no free water in the rooms and the toiletries were cheap.
"Very pleasant place to stay"
Close to the old town of Bratislava, the Falkensteiner is well situated and very well run with excellent staff, clean and well-provided rooms, and a solidly diverse breakfast selection. We slept soundly in comfortable beds, the bathroom was spacious and everything worked nicely. The bar was a little hit-and-miss with service disappearing at the first sign of busy times but drinks were decent once they arrived. Breakfast was the standout though, with a great range of fresh and delicious options. Will almost certainly be staying here again some time.
