"The best hotel in São Paulo and in fact one of the best in the world"
I always fly to South America on British airways from London to São Paulo and I use it as a pit stop to just recover from the fatigue of air travel. The fasano is probably the best choice for this. Very comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff and because I stayed a few times already they always remember my preference. I usually need an early checkin and they always managed to accommodate this. And this time my flight is in the evening and without my asking they immediately extended me a late checkout. Generous gestures like this make a mark on the guest. São Paulo admittedly is not a beautiful city but the fasano provides a safe haven and is at a nice neighbourhood. I truly love this hotel.
The attention and kindness of all personnel is outstanding. The rooms are extremely nice. The location is ideal. The facilities are what you would expect from a hotel of this standing. The breakfast is excellent and is great to have it on the terrace
The best hotel! We arrived here, we got Moet, we had the best room 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 employers were so nice and kind! I adore this place, especially we had bad experience with hotels in Sao Paulo. Thank you for being the best!
We had a great 3 night stay in the Fasano SP over Christmas and the hype is well deserved The rooms, service and restaurants are impeccable Not an ideal time to visit as many places closed for the Christmas period but we also had no traffic or crowds and could see most things we wanted. The Fasano staff were great in helping to find Restaurants that were open. Lucas Medeiros on Concierge was amazing. We completely rejigged our last day and saw many of our highlights based on his suggestions (which frustratingly weren't in any guidebooks). Also very helpful in arranging a driver and our transport to our next stop 5 hours away. I had stupidly messed up our hotel reservation and Luisa and Leonardo were very accommodating and understanding. Make sure you dine in the Fasano - superb italian and the best meal of our trip by far. We'll be back
"New Years Stay"
We were really looking forward to staying at the Fasano over New Year and in many ways it didn't disappoint. We loved the old world style of the hotel and unlike other reviewers didn't think it was dated at all. The discreet entrance opens into a lovely lobby bar which has a real 1920s feel, behind which is the reception desk. We booked a Deluxe room and it was very spacious, well appointed and with a large white/grey marble bathroom. We arrived very early but were given a room by 09:30 after recovering from a long flight from London over breakfast. Service throughout the hotel was super attentive, we loved the old world charm and formality of it all. There were however a few issues and disappointments. The first was our air conditioning which failed to get the room sufficiently cool for a comfortable nights sleep. However after a poor night's sleep, to their credit, the hotel team moved us to another room. We didn't need to pack so this was straightforward and we were given a lovely gift for the inconvenience of it all - so top marks for service recovery! The room we moved to was identical to the first but on a higher floor. Whilst the air conditioning was marginally better it still did not adequately cool the room so I think maybe there is a need to overhaul the system. As we were only staying two nights we didn't want to move again so didn't report any further issue. We arrived on 31st Dec and had already made the decision not to join the hotel's party in Barreto or their set menu dinner on NYE in the Fasano restaurant. We figured (correctly) that we'd be too tired after our flight to make the most of either event. We chose instead to celebrate the New Year at the Fasano's New Years Day brunch in their Nono Ruggero restaurant. Breakfast was not available on the day (unless you had room service which we felt was a bit poor given the room rate) so we had high expectations of a grand feast! How disappointed we were! I guess this was also an issue with our expectations as much as the reality however we have had a lot of brunches in Asian and Middle Eastern hotels and this opulent style was what we'd expected. What we got was a crowded small restaurant, a table practically on top of the buffet (so we felt crowded out when people were selecting food) and a really limited selection of food. The quality was good but half a dozen salads, a few different types or cold meat, smoked salmon and a quiche was really not the opulent banquet we had been expecting. Then as far as the main part of the meal was concerned there was a choice of just 3 main courses! I acknowledge that we have been spoiled by other experiences however this was billed as a celebration meal and furthermore, a replacement for breakfast and lunch, when in reality it was a simple lunch buffet. Disappointing! Our final disappointment came in the evening. We had been really looking forward to eating in the Fasano's main restaurant and enjoying some Bossa Nova in Barreto. Sadly neither venue was open. We were told that this was because it was a Sunday but it may have been due to it being New Years Day. Maybe we should have done our research but regardless of the day we felt that a hotel of this standard, charging what it does, should offer a full service to all guests. In summary we loved the hotel and if we are in São Paulo again, we'd definitely be staying again. However we're really disappointed that on this occasion we didn't get the full Fasano experience that we feel we paid for and were expecting.
