Nice, friendly, and a great location.Comment of V. Daniel , Canada the 2015-05-28
Very good hotel. You see that the hotel is a little old and a renovation should be a good idea. But the bed and the service are fantastic. Because I was there during the weekend, they asked me if I wanted the view or silence (because of the clubs/bars).
At first side the hotel looked nice but staying overnight wasn't so ideal a lot of noise from outside music from a night club. I cannot recommend this hotel especially after complaining to the reception the answer was "we know there is a problem". The bathroom was very small between a shower and a bath 😔 and not very clean
"Needs an upgrade"
On the pictures it looks really nice, but they are probably taken a long time ago. The rooms and the hallways strongly needs an upgrade. I was offered a deluxe bedroom but it is definitely not worth the extra money, the standard is the same - old! Dusty wall-to-wall carpet, relatively old bathroom and the pillows in the bad are really bad. On the plus side the location of the hotel is really good and the personell are friendly and helpful.
I booked this hotel thru Jetsetter and was a bit concerned due to some of the reviews. I thought the location was fabulous and the breakfast was amazing. The staff at the hotel were all wonderful too. I do agree the rooms were a bit warm and if you have a room facing the street the noise during the night is horrible.
"Beautiful Hotel but NO AC!"
We flew in from Iceland tired and ready for bed. There were no bell hops. So we had to struggle into a very small elevator, thru a security door then thru our room door with two large suitcases and two carryons. We got into the room to find NO Air Condition! Luckily, we found a fan and the balcony door opened. Even though it said to open only in the case of an emergency. I thought that it was an emergency since it was in the 70's! You must have a voucher for breakfast which one can acquire at the front desk. So, in closing if you are looking for a beautiful hotel thats reminiscent of the 1800's without a bellhop and no AC this is the place for you!
