"Thank you FS Macau!"
My partner and I stayed at Four Seasons Macau for 21 nights in May 2016. The staff are out of this world in so many ways. I feel like I can write a very good review as to our experience at this hotel. Arrival - When we arrived we were taken care of from our first step out of the taxi. The bellboys had the warmest welcome, greeting us by our name. I was amazed how they knew! They took our luggage to our room very prompt and the same on departure. Great service right from the first second. Front of house- The reception team were okay. I wouldn't say they majorly stood out for us apart from Willie. Willie was fantastic. Room - For 13 nights we had booked a King Deluxe room. It was lovely, cosy and spacious at the same time. We had no issues at all. We upgraded to a Junior Suite for the remaining 7 nights as we decided to extend our stay. I was a little frustrated when we moved because there was a lot of banging by the elivator, all day! This was resolved after 2 days or so but could have been resolved in a better way. I felt like I almost had to be rude for the problem to be resolved which I disliked. In the Junior Suite, we also had an issue with our rest room, the maintance man was not as pleasent as I would have expected, especially with the other staff being so amazing. He was a little grumpy. We had no issues whatsoever with our first room which was the King Deluxe room. The Junior Suite is a much nicer room with lots of added space but for the inconvience of the banging I wouldn't have said it was worth the extra price. Breakfast - The Belcancao staff are incredible! Every morning it was a pleasure seeing them, from the very first moment we arrived for breakfast they made us feel welcome. They allocated us our very own table every day by the window and brought the same drinks for us without us needing to ask them what we wanted. They are a very special team, Putra and Monica always went out of their way to make us feel like special guests. The restaurant managers would bring food that wasn't on the menu as a nice gesture of goodwill, if we ever had any request they would usually cater for them. They would always offer food before we even had to mention anything. The only thing that was a little annoying was I had strawberries every day and on one of the days they had no berries. As we was told if we needed anything to ask, I asked one of the restaurant managers if we could have some berries but we was told no. I asked why and I was told because it's not a traditional Asain food which left me confused as they had been there every single day and the buffet was international foods also. No complaints apart from that minor. Evening Buffet- As above, the staff are incredible. The buffet was superb! So many options, such good value. Room Service - Amazing! I ordered a lot of room service. I stayed in the grounds a lot throughout the three weeks as I didn't feel like I wanted to leave. The staff became more like friends rather than servers! I looked forward to seeing them so much every day. You can tell they are genuinely beautiful people even behind their incredible service. I have forgotten the servers name but in my opinion, the Room Service staff were the best. It may have helped they brought me little gifts throughout our stay which I absolutely loved, thanks for the chocolates and macarons! Housekeeping - So impressive. No matter what we needed and when they would be there making the room clean and fresh. The laundry service was outstanding too. The maid found some currency under the bed which we were completely unaware we had misplaced, they were honest and wrote a little note to mention they had found it for us. Lulu and Cecil looked after us greatly. They couldn't do enough. Windows restaurant - The service was the worst service out of the whole hotel. I can honestly say this restaurant let the whole team down in a way. We dined there quite a few times and it was never perfect. One time imparticular the staff kept us waiting 45 minutes to order water. Then an additional 40 minutes to ask us what we would like to eat. The restaurant was empty so there was no excuse. Whilst we were waiting, another table had arrived and left because the staff took no notice of the guests. I was extremely disappointed and did not dine there again. The Spa - Gift was my favourite therapist. My partner and I had many amazing treatments. I had a Foot Massage, Manicure, Pedicure and The Diamond Facial. I loved every single treatment. My partner had a Pedicure and enjoyed it that much he actually fell asleep! He had the Four Seasons massage also which he enjoyed. Gift really went the extra mile to make me feel amazing. I really hope she is part of the team when we return. The pool - Stunning. The staff are again so amazing. Nicky is very special. I really can not say enough how friendly and welcoming the staff are. I know it is expected but they really go the extra mile with the service. The drinks by the pool are awesome. My partner thought the service by the pool was the best out of every department. I had just lost my father a week before we came and I will always thank this hotel and their staff for making me feel human again. The stress of life back then and the extreme journey from England made me unwell and they helped me recover without question and judgement. My review is a little late and rated 'very good' because there was room for slight improvement (windows restaurant and resolving complaints) but I want to say thank you to the team and we look forward to returning very soon.
This week our sales management team had a two day meeting at this property. The transportation from ferry terminal, check in process, rooms, meeting rooms, breakfasts and lunches were all great. Service was attentive but not intrusive. No drama with audio visual or IT as I have often experienced. They met every requirement and even anticipated what our needs before we asked in some cases. Actually could not have been better. Hotel atmosphere is very quiet which is fine since there's plenty of noise and energy all around. Property is connected to shopping arcade and venetian by underground walkways. Some renovation in process but is being done without any noticeable disruption. Macau has direct flights from Shanghai, Beijing and Taiwan as well as ferry service from hk international airport. If coming from hkia do Not clear immigration. Follow signs to ferry terminal. They retrieve your luggage from baggage claim. Spring for the first class ticket and check ferry schedules. They're not so frequent to/from airport and Sheung Wan ferry terminal is crowded and confusing. Anyway it's now one of my top5 hotels anywhere in the world! Great job.
We stayed for one night at the end of October and were rather disappointed. The hotel has nice common parts, which are not as gaudy as those in many Macau hotels, and a pleasant pool and garden area. We had the most basic room which was large but rather tired and nothing special. The bathroom did not seem luxurious as both the toilet seat and toilet paper were the flimsiest money can buy. We were told that we were on a non-smoking floor but it was apparent every time we walked along the corridor that a lot of smoking was happening on that floor. (Possibly guests flouting the rules but still unpleasant). The TV was not working properly and the man who was sent to the room to help had no more idea how to make it work than I did. Our feelings were reinforced by dining at Zi Hat Yeen which failed to wow us, although breakfast at Belcencao was excellent. We passed on our feedback when we checked out and were rewarded with the word "sorry". We assumed that the Four Seasons would be upset that our stay had not lived up to our (and I assume their) expectations but we were wrong.
Had a great evening at the four seasons being pampered. Amazing signature massage and great facilities including jacuzzi, steam and relaxation rooms. Our therapists Gift and Paula were wonderful and gave us great tips on visiting Macau, they should be commended for their hospitality! They team knew that it was my birthday and even organised a small gift for me to take away, a wonderful surprise! I can't wait to be back!
"Excellent service, fantastic room, fantastic spa"
Our room was one of the best rooms we've ever had in a hotel. It was large, comfortable, and quiet. We were treated like royalty. Of course, maybe because we were the only caucasians we saw, they greeted us by name whenever we walked in the front door. Room service was quick, and the laundry was done quickly as well. The hotel is attached on to a great mall with high end shops. The casino is close as well. Now, for those of you who are used to Vegas. While it looks similar, it is NOT. There are a billion baccarat tables, and few black jack tables, one craps table, and some poker. There is NO alcohol or music in the casino. It is SERIOUS business. But, if you are going to stay in Macau, the Four Seasons is THE hotel to stay in.
