"50th Birthday Treat"
Fantastic location 3 minutes walk from Edinburgh castle , in the old town quite a hike up the hill from the tram not for the faint hearted !!! The hotel was fantastic we were made very welcome after an early flight we were able to leave our luggage so we could start exploring straight away . When we arrived back later in the day to check in, my husband had mentioned that it was my 50th so Ann on reception had upgraded our room not only for us , for our friends as well , we had two wonderful rooms with great views over Edinburgh , there was also a birthday cake left in the room , fantastic touch and very touching , highly recommended . "Lovely Weekend "
We stayed at the G&V for the first time last weekend. We were really impressed by the whole experience, beginning from being met outside the main entrance by staff who took our bags and parked our car, to the check in area where we were offered a Gin and Tonic! Room was very nice and well appointed. Main bar is currently being refurbished so one end of the Mezzanine Dining room is being used as a lounge for now but is perfectly acceptable. We were looked after by a lovely Spanish server called Lube and she made us most welcome. Will certainly stay here again, simple to get to the Hotel and it is so close to all the major attractions.
"city break for 30th birthday "
Hotel was very welcoming and trendy. Comfortable clean rooms with complimentary still or sparkling water plus tea/coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was delicious with both hot and cold options. We were able able to take away what we couldn't finish which made for a tasty cost effective lunch. Staff were extremely helpful and room service was quick, I particularly enjoyed the pumpkin and sweet potato soup. Location of hotel is great as it is very close to the Edinburgh Castle and the Art Gallery. There were lots of places to choose to eat from. I would definitely go back and stay in this Hotel :)
"Amazing place to stay lovely city"
We had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend this place plenty to see and do some amazing sites the castle tour was great and the whisky tour was really informative we also went on the Edinburgh ghost tour that goes to the underground streets well worth a visit
We stayed at this hotel for a weekend, away from London. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. At the check in, me and my partner, we been upgrade for suit as my partner is a concierge member. The room was on the 5th floor and on the back of the hotel. Very quite and huge room. Lovely living area, two bathroom, one very huge with hot floor. Shower was impressive, such as the bed. Only one thing is that the room was a bit cold, but its fine as takes a bit longer to worm up. Breakfast was lovely and a lot of choose from a la cart menu and buffet too. We already booked a weekend for next year in the same hotel, that means we definitely going back.
