For those of you inquiring about this hotel, I read many Trip Advisor reviews on Galería Plaza Reforma with negative comments from bad customer service to in room theft. It did not sit well with me, but I booked it anyway. I then saw for myself and I am glad I did it. We did not have any of the problems I saw in previous reviews. My significant other and I arrived. The check in was quick and easy. The staff can speak both Spanish and English. They were very polite and helpful. The incidental deposit was about $54 USD (lower than many hotels I've previously stayed at). When we got to our room, it was smaller than I expected, but just right. It is slightly outdated in some aspects. The view is okay. The beds are a little firm. Not necessarily hard as a rock, but it's tolerable especially if you're used to sleeping on a firmer mattress. The AC works okay. The bathroom was decent. The only thing that did not sit well with me was the shower because it lacked the proper partitioning to keep the water from getting on bathroom floor; however, a towel by the shower entrence is a quick solution. The location is perfect. The hotel is located near everything. The Zona Rosa, Reforma, Chapultepec Park, The Angel of Independence, and Historical center are all within walking distance. The area is very safe with a high police presence. The hotel concierge is great for booking tours and giving information. He helped us get to the pyramids; however, the tour company they booked us with was not the best. The pool area is nice. The pool is shallow, but Mexico City can be really cold in the morning and evenings. The gym is okay. The food we tried at the hotel was a little on the high end, but it was great and their breakfast buffet had a large variety. Personally, we ate at many of the nearby restaurants (The best being la casa de Los abuelos and la casa de Toño). Checkout was easy and they quickly arranged us a taxi to the the airport (Be sure to head early as traffic is terrible in the area). Overall a great hotel. I would stay there again, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in Mexico City.
"Excellent Value and Location"
We chose this place for our first visit to the city based on recent reviews and stayed four nights. Location is great, about 500m away from the metro and close to many conveniences. Service was great while room was clean and quiet. Great value!
"Great rooftop pool, helpful staff"
This hotel was our family's refuge from the heat and madness of a first big holiday overseas starting in Mexico City. Functional business type hotel and room, perfectly good for 2 adults and kids 8 and 10 sharing double beds. Excellent rooftop small swimming pools (if a litttle shallow) for early morning and late afternoon swims with kids. Staff especially concieges very helpful and courteous, speaking good English and helping at any opportunity. Pool of taxi drivers with whom to arrange outings and straightforward A to B journeys
"Returning to Mexico City"
I always enjoy staying at the Galeria Plaza Reforma. The hotel is nice, the staff excelent and it's close to many fine restaurants and easy to access most of the things that I want to do. And I alway's look forward to the breakfast buffet in the morning and often a nightcap in the evenings.
