"Boutique hotel next to Checkpoint Charlie"
Just next to Checkpoint Charlie, and a few Vietnamese joints nearby. Easy to get to via subway from the main train station, just make sure you email the hotel for directions prior to arrival. Hotel location took abit of finding, but it felt safe walking around even at night. Nearest subway station in Stadmitte a few hundred meters away, from there you are just a couple of stops away from Alexander Platz and other attractions. I liked the way the clothes hangers are designed into the racks. Something different and refreshing! Only issue I had was that the bed wasn't too comfortable, and I kept waking up, plus the fact the walls were thin and I could hear voices in the corridor of people talking and even slight knocks (both corridor or adjacent rooms) could be heard.
"Stuff went missing from room and hotel showed absolutely no customer service"
I discovered that my toiletry bag with shampoo and deep conditioning mask had disappeared from my room at about 11pm when I went to shower. I went down to report it to the front lobby and the girl wanted to help but said they had a full room of things from people's room but that she did not have the key. The next morning the woman on the front desk Lisa Balisheri said that she had checked and my items were not there. She then said she had asked the cleaner and it was "my word against his". I met a cleaner and asked him if he knew where my shampoo and conditioner were, and he was very aggressive (the cleaner who cleaned our room was Sergio Espinosa - but I don't know if it was him). and asked him, and he was very aggressive. No one tried to help and we were constantly told the management were not available till Monday. Most of all I disliked being implied that I was lying. Why would I make up a story about loosing a shampoo and conditioner' On the day we needed to check out, I did not even have a bag in which to place my other toiletries, and generally the attitude of the hotel was so unpleasant it ruined the trip. The staff in the bar had been very nice but Lisa on the front desk was unpleasant and when I asked her if customer service and making us feel cared for was important, she said she preferred not to answer. They completely refused to say that it was possible my shampoo and conditioner had been thrown away by mistake by the cleaner. We are all human... it was there in the morning, and clearly not anywhere in the room when we returned in the evening. My boyfriend asked what would they say if it was a laptop or ipad or watch that had gone missing and she said she trusted her cleaner and therefore, once again made it clear we were in the wrong, and we were lying. At this point we asked if doing a lie test (half joking now out of frustration) would help her understand our point of view and that they had not even tried to understand the inconvenience of being unable to take a shower and wash your hair with your own products (and they did not have any conditioner to give us) - I'm not going to go out in snow and minus 6 temperature at 11:30pm at night to look for hair products. The whole attitude was one of no management presence, and no customer service. They also mischarged our friends who were also staying in the hotel with us for items that they had already paid for at the bar. In the end we asked her if we called the police to report that property had gone missing from the hotel, she would be bothered to even mention to management that we were so upset. She said we should call the police. So we ended up having the police come and take statements and write up a report (and gave us the report details and number), just so it was obvious to her that no one would lie about having a shampoo and conditioner missing from the room - a hotel is meant to make you feel great - give you shelter and a feeling of being looked after. She did nothing to help us, to show she understood the inconvenience and she said that management would be in contact with us on Monday (after we left) - which of course, they have not done. When the police arrived she said she spoke with the management of the hotel and gave us 24 Euros (the cost of breakfast for two) as compensation. They could have solved the problem two days before by apologizing for a human error and giving us a replacement shampoo and conditioner, and not involving the police. Other things happened to show us that there was actually no real management or customer service over the weekend (when I would assume most people want and need a hotel) and the whole experience was really unfriendly, and made us feel we were in the wrong and lying. It is a shame as the hotel itself was nicely designed and in a great location, but it just shows how important customer service is - and how people like Lisa Balisheri do not know the meaning of the word.
"Modern and immaculately clean hotel at a very good price"
I stayed here for three nights and found the hotel to have every facility I needed. It was new and immaculately clean - thanks for this, cleaner! Despite the extreme cold and snow outside the hotel, the room was beautifully warm. The location of the hotel is very good - close to an underground station but also within walking distance of the main sites of the city. There are good restaurants and cafes nearby and also plenty of information on the history of the Wall.
"Good choice for budget hotel in Berlin"
Stayed here for 3 nights in the summer, we enjoyed staying here, the room was pretty good, comfy bed, the service and the price was good. It's in a good location. There is a great bakery/cafe down the road.
"Modern and amazing"
We stayed on the 6th floor of the hotel and were greeted with friendly staff who very very helpful. The room was very modern and the layout and design was nicely done. The best part was the bathroom which had a really big shower. The best was that we were allowed to check in earlier because the room was already available (unlike some hotels that make a point of letting you wait for no reason ). Overall the stay was very pleasant.
