Sehr schönes Hotel - sehr gute Kombination von alten und neuen Elementen - sehr stylisch - extrem freundliches Personal - tolle Aussicht auf Istanbul beim Frühstück auf der Terrasse - sehr gute Betten / BettwäscheComment of W. Fritz, Austria the 2015-03-27
Loved this hotel! Only comment on the bathroom is that the water leaked from the shower which made the floor soaking wet. We stayed in room 17 the first two nights and the isolation was great, moved up to room 21 where the isolation wasn't that great due to the restaurant. All and all we loved to stay at this hotel!Comment of W. Charlotte, Sweden the 2015-03-26
"Great Small Hotel, Perfect Location"
I stayed in this hotel during the 1st half of my 1 week Istanbul tour, as it's near the destinations I wanted to cover. The environment is very homey & warm. I stayed on both their Panorama & Sea view rooms, and they were divine! Imagine waking up everyday with the view of the Bosphorus & the old city. There were days I didn't want to go out of the hotel. That charming, fat cat who stays at the reception added a welcoming & cute touch. The neighborhood is perfect, as there is a lot of quirky shops & restaurants. I'd also like to commend the reception staff who welcomed me on my arrival (I think he does the morning shift). Very helpful & accommodating. This will be my first stop again during my next trip!
"Very Charming Hotel"
We recently stayed at this hotel for 1 week. Overall, it is lovely, and very charming. There are three things which make this hotel excellent in my opinion. The first is the location. It is very, very close to Galata Tower, Istiklal Street and also, the Karakoy Tram station. That makes this location ideal for tourists. The second highlight is the design and structure of the hotel itself. It is very beautifully renovated, in European style, with numerous lovely Turkish accents. The public spaces (lobby, roof top restaurant) are very beautiful and the rooms are charming, clean and well-maintained. Istanbul is a beautiful and artistic city and this hotel fits in very well. The third strength is the front desk staff. They are all lovely people, and are very helpful, affable and professional. As we stayed for a week, we had an opportunity to talk to them quite a lot. They are wonderful people who do their best to make your stay pleasant. In case the manager or owner is reading these reviews, I would suggest one change, for consideration. The hotel breakfast is very limited in choice, modest in size and expensive in price. We booked breakfast with our room, but realized after we arrived, that there are so many good cafes and restaurants within 5 minutes of the hotel. Had we known this, we would not have paid for the breakfast in advance. At least, at the moment, Istanbul is not an expensive city and Turkish food is very delicious. I would therefore suggest that travellers stay at this hotel, but there is no need to pay in advance for the breakfast. The hotel may consider either increasing the available choices, reducing the price, or just including a limited breakfast free, with the room rate. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Do make an effort to meet the hotel's VERY charismatic cat, named Gappar!
"Lovely boutique hotel, great location"
Really helpful front desk staff to this small, but excellently appointed hotel. The location is within spitting distance of Galata tower and Şişane. Wifi was good and the breakfast on the roof was fab with a view to die for. Very happy - I will be back!
"Gave our room away."
I booked a room here well in advance, because I wanted the room with the bath. I explicitly requested this. However, on arrival we were told that the room with bath had been given to another couple. We were told that to make up for this we had been "upgraded" to a room with a sea view, but would probably have to move out to another room the following day (I had booked two nights). We declined this desultory offer, and asked for the booking to be cancelled. The receptionist said the easiest way to do this was to put us down as a "no show" to Booking .com! We obviously disputed this. Luckily the weekend wasn't ruined, as we found another hotel. We have still to receive a written apology. Appalling
"Amazing - location, service and rooms"
Stayed at Georges at the front and back end of my trip. Stayed for 4 nights and returned for another 3 nights. They were nice enough to store my suitcase for me while I was away. The hotel is steps away from Galata Tower and 5 minute walk from Istiklal Cadessi. I stayed in a deluxe room with balcony and it was a great size and very clean. Very comfortable bed. My only minor critique would be that the room is quite dark so some better lighting would be great. The breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was great, especially the Turkish breakfast. Service - all of the concierges were always very friendly and helpful but Sinan stood out and seemed to always be there with a welcoming smile on his face. Loved it and hope to visit again someday.
