"Comfort like home, lovely part of DC"
Stayed in November for one night having previously spent a week in 2013. It's lovely and comfy with helpful friendly team. The area is great for a sole traveler (I was traveling for work both times), with plenty pleasant places to walk, and choice of restaurants and shops. Clean with fluffy dressing gown and super comfy bed. There's even an Apple Store across the road. Look forward to returning.
"Great location, comfy beds"
A very tall bed which was difficult to climb into as a small person but once in I didn't want to get out, so comfy! Bathroom a bit run-down and the hotel had a slightly seedy feel or perhaps aged is a nicer term but still quite nice overall and you can't beat the location for Georgetown. Staff is competent and helpful, usually polite.
"Worst place that I've stayed in Georgetown!!"
We stayed here twice, the first being "okay" and the second was the worst hotel experience ever! The valet that parked my car was literally the craziest person that I have ever encountered and his buddy "Helen" at the front desk would not help us, she backed him up without even knowing what had transpired. We emailed the manager of the property but received a standard "sorry you did not enjoy your stay" response that was totally insulting to the nightmare we went through. Honestly, the worst hotel experience ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Grand Dame needs an Uplift"
Great location. This was once a wonderful old place, but is now in great need of refurbishment. And, while fixing things in the bathrooms (cosmetic mostly) could be expensive (tilework needs help), small things should be done: plastic soap dishes, really'!, reupholster chairs so I am not sitting on someone else's stains, tables that aren't scratched or wobbly, etc. Also, it would be helpful to have room service dishes that are put in the halls removed as quickly as possible....it looks really bad to have dirty, old dishes in the halls from morning till late afternoon.
"Best location in Georgetown"
We were back in town for my Georgetown reunion and stayed here as we have one in the past. It is right on Wisconsin two blocks from M street and a short walk to the Potomac. The location can't be beat if you want to explore Georgetown. It is a fine old boutique style hotel with very comfortable rooms. It is starting to show its age and could use some paint and new carpets but those are minor complaints. The staff is outstanding.
