"Cozy, Understated Luxury "
I've stayed here more times then I can count, and it never disappoints. If you frequent NY on business, you may feel as I do that after a long day you want quiet. This has become my go to. I love the wine bar. The service is always great, grown to look forward to the welcome glass of champagne. I'm obsessed with their breakfast offering for room service and appreciate being able to order the night before and hang it on the door. The rooms are modern comfort, hints of flannel and luxury touches. It's always quiet in the rooms, cozy.. you feel away from the bustle. Great work spaces. Highly recommend.
"Great hotel. Would definitely recommend it."
We had a wonderful stay at Guild Hall, mainly because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff, especially Rob, Max, and John. They are role models for great customer service. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The decor is warm and subdued- a departure from the cookie-cutter furnishings that you normally see in hotels these days. The hotel is situated in a good location to see everything in the financial district. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast at the elegant Italian restaurant attached to the hotel, Felice. We would definitely recommend Guild Hall.
"nice hotel in very good location"
We stayed here for 3 nights. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were smart and tidy and relatively stylish. The public areas were always clean and tidy. The gyms are a bit too small with limited equipment. The bar is great as is Felice restaurant. We were able to borrow the bikes from reception which was great. Location if perfect for ground zero, brooklyn bride, brookfield plaza and west fields as well as close to downtown soho, china town, little Italy.
"Best. Sleep. Ever."
I stayed in the Gild for 3 nights over the MLK Holiday weekend. On check-in, I had an issue with my credit card; the staff was patient and helpful in getting it successfully resolved. My room was just lovely; well decorated, spotlessly clean, tidy and the aesthetics were very appealing. On day two, my smoke alarm backup battery hit its low charge point and began notifying me (via an automated voice and a beep). I contacted the front desk, and they had someone up to take care of it literally within 5 minutes! Finally, the bed was ridiculously comfortable and the room was very quiet (having lived in NYC for over a year, I know how exceptional that is). The net result was 3 nights of the best sleep I have ever had. The property location on the eastern side of the FiDi makes it a little bit of a hidden gem, but subway access is good (short walks to Fulton Station, the R and the 6) and it is a 10 minute walk to ground zero, southside seaport, Battery Park etc. For what it is worth, I have now stayed in 3 Thompson properties, and in each the quality of the experience has been excellent.
Stayed at Gild Hall for two nights in November 2016; choosing it because of its relatively low cost and nearby to an event I was in the city to attend. The hotel was serviceable. Nobody stays in the Financial District on a personal trip expecting to entertain themselves in the vicinity, but the Gild Hall is reasonably close to the Metro. What I was surprised by was how run down the rooms were though large (except for the bathroom), and comfortable. Ensure you ask for a room away from the elevators if staying during the weekend.
