"Great boutique style hotel"
Great location in walking distance to most sights at the southern tip of Manhattan. Very helpful staff. Cool design concept in the lobby and the rooms. Rooms surprisingly spacious for NYC standards. Breakfast and dinner in hotel restaurant are also recommendable.
"Hidden Gem In The Financial District!!!"
Gild Hall was a great hotel! From the moment we walked in the staff at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. They even upgraded me to a suite for almost nothing. The room was like a one bedroom apt. Spacious living room area with a small kitchen. The bedroom was a very spacious as well. The decor and design of the hotel is very modern, sleek and cool. After work I would enjoy cocktails in their lobby bar which also had a restaurant. I strongly recommend Gild Hall to anyone that wants to stay away of the hustle and bustle of Midtown.
"April 12 Stay"
Excellent stay. Great service. Everything was very good. Even the weather was nice. I have recommended the hotel to many of my work colleagues and have had a lot of my referrals stay at the hotel over the last 9 years. I even had my Birthday party at the Hotel's second floor party room!
"Great hotel, great staff"
This was a great hotel with exceptional rooms and wonderful staff. Despite being downtown and a little further removed from the hustle and bustle of midtown, this hotel is within very easy access of subway stations and all of the downtown attractions (9/11 memorial, Battery Park etc). The only thing worth noting is that the bathroom was only separated from the bedroom by frosted glass and a door frame, not leaving much to the imagination. If you're sharing a room with someone but prefer your privacy when it comes to bathroom use, this is something to take note of, though this was not personally an issue.
"WHAT A FIND!"
I usually stay Midtown just off 5th Avenue and would not previously have considered the Financial District. However, this time I was attending a family wedding in Battery Park and was given a choice of three reasonably priced hotels nearby. By sheer luck, Gild Hall was an inspired choice and I much enjoyed my stay. Nondescript from the outside (and difficult for GPS to locate exactly), Gild Hall is a delightful hotel with somewhat quirky style and particularly charming and helpful staff. My Deluxe King room was spacious and well appointed (apart from the protruding bed base which can catch your ankles) and very good value at $266 a night. I paid twice as much uptown for inferior accommodation. We ate lunch and breakfast in Felice, the hotel bistro style restaurant, and were pleased by the friendly, swift service and the quality of the food - some of the best smoked salmon anywhere. In the bar it was puzzling that there was no Schweppes tonic to go with my Gin - the tonic from the multi-dispenser was horrible - as they stock Schweppes in the minibar in the rooms. However, on request the correct tonic was produced. If you need to be downtown on a budget, I strongly recommend Gild Hall for location, value for money and ambience.
