"Tiny but nice room in an equally nice and modern hotel"
I stayed at Glo Hotel Art recently for a short weekend break in Helsinki. We arrived soaked from a shower of snow-rain and was fortunately met by a friendly member of staff that checked us in and gave us complimentary sparkling water and a discount voucher for the restaurant, as we were Discovery members (the lowest tier). After a 3-4 minute trek through the hotel (including a few steps outside changing building) we found our room on the fourth floor. The room we received was, as the frontdesk girl accurately described it suggesting us an upgrade; Tiny. Nevertheless it was tiny in a quite good way with all the amenities we needed and with a modern and fresh feel to it. There was a (comfy) motorized bed, so you could for instance raise the back of the bed when watching tv. The tv was flat and had Finnish as well as international channels. Wifi was free and worked well, and the shower had good pressure. Breakfast was included and was of decent quality. The scrambled eggs, to start with, was quite bad to be honest. Watery, crumbly and sweet in flavour. I did not like the crepes either, served in a cupboard drawer(!), ice-cold and with no whipped cream (although that is a personal preference). Otherwise though, food was okay. I particularly liked the mini Karelian pasties with Finnish egg butter as well as the fresh fruit and decent juices. Bread was okay, there were sliced veggies, cheese, cold cuts, yoghurts, nuts and muesli. And the croissants were tasty (BUT WHERE’S THE NUTELLA''' – just kidding). As the room was small, and Helsinki sunny and springy, we did not spend that much time in the room. When we did however, we enjoyed it. We paid a very reasonable price for our stay, and I would probably stay again even though the location is a tiny bit off from the more central parts.
"Deisgn castle hotel"
The first thing to underline is surely the breakfast: a big variety of food - fruit, pancakes, marmelade, different types of bread, eggs, sausages, bacon,...- in a comfortable environment. It is located in a quiet street near the centre - 10 minutes on foot -. The structure is a modern castle and inside you can find design rooms, not so big but "full of details".
"Good hotel, good breakfast"
The hotel is in a good location, only maximum 10 minutes from Helsinki center. The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet, and the bathroom was a good size. The Wi-Fi was a bit dubious but coverage was everywhere. The breakfast had good variety and was tasty.
"Good location and special kind of room lightning"
GLO Hotel Art has very good location downtown Helsinki close to many good restaurants. The building is an old Art Nouveau one but the old style cannot be seen in the rooms any more. The hallways in the hotel are a bit confusing. Beds are good and it is nice to sleep in this hotel. Somebody had paid a lot of attention to the room lightning which is really good. TV channel selection is not very good. Breakfast is OK but there are lots of better ones available in Helsinki. Service is good and one can buy a toy lynx that sits on the bed!
"Good Touring Hotel"
The Hotel is ideally placed for a short visit. The hotel is welcoming and rooms comfortable .Even the buffet breakfast was adequate foe the early riser. Probably the only criticism was perhaps the bar could be bigger and have more staff
