"A Little Frayed Around the Edges"
This hotel puts out an excellent breakfast every day from a fine kitchen that that also does a very good job for dinner. Unfortunately, the maintenance of the rooms and common spaces show considerable wear and tear. I stay at this hotel because the Dutch company I work with has a corporate rate there. But during my 8 stays in the last 3 years the carpets have become more threadbare and more stained in the rooms, stairs and public areas. The equipment in the fitness room is not in great shape. Even the billiard table in the foyer needs an overhaul. I would be happy to pay a higher rate at the Apple Park if I knew that a renovation plan was in place to upgrade thie property.. Lastly, even with the excellent staff, I would not say here if my visit to Maastricht was personal because of this hotel’s current state of repair.
"Friendly staff, good price, nice breakfast"
We booked two rooms (for 2 adults and 2 kids), and asked if it was possible to be on the same floor. On arrival, we hear that our rooms are not only on the same floor, but just next to each other. Thanks ! I also booked breakfast for 4, and on check-out they only charge me 3: the kids got 50% discount. Nice.
"Very relaxing and convenient"
We found the Golden Tulip to be a great place to stay with all the amenities for today’s travelers’. Very friendly and spotless. THis was our first stay during our business trip the The Netherlands and Germany.
"Excellent service and courteous staff"
I stayed at this hotel during the ESRA 2016 conference in September 2016. I found the check-in quite smooth with the staff at the reception being very polite. The rooms are a decent size for the money and they are clean and very well kept. The beds were very comfortable as well. The reception was very helpful in providing us with advice regarding interesting places to visit in and around Maastricht. Breakfast was nice with a good variety of dishes.
"Convenient near roads and 20min walk from centre."
Apple park hotel was my base for working in Maastricht a few times. After checking the website, making a reservation by phone was easy. The hotel provides paid-parking, but if you are early, there are plenty of free parkings just south of the restaurant as well. If you ask nicely, they let you park a motorcycle in front of the hotel, safely in sight of the all-night reception. The rooms are Good, with excellent beds and bathrooms, and small desk you can work from. I’ve stayed in both comfort and exec-rooms, but found the difference not that significant. The restaurant is Good, but not cheap. Wifi is a bit slow, and they know it. it will hopefully improve over time. The breakfast is sufficient, but could be a little better, given the ambition of the restaurant. The executive-lounge is a nice idea, but it is not (yet) at the level of “lounge” you get from, say Marriott-gold-level where they often offer (free) breakfast and snacks in the exec-lounge. Locations is slightly off centre, but the city-centre (and trainstation) is only 20-30min walk away, and with the work on the tunnel finished that walk will be come even easier and nicer.
