"Great for a shower and shave after a long flight"
After flying from Hong Kong to Brussels, overnight, I checked in the Parker at 09:00 for a nap, a shower, change of clothes, and a shave before my day started in the afternoon. The bed was comfortable and the shower was not only needed but great! My only issue was, I missed breakfast and the restaurant didn't open again until dinner. I was kind of hungry when I checked out!
"Nice hotel near the airport"
I enjoyed this hotel, had a shuttle to get us from the airport and back, very comfy beds, no free breakfast, large room (there were 3 of us in a room), I think the double rooms are considerably smaller. We only stayed one night as we had a 22 hour layover. Very helpful staff at the front desk. It is only a ten minute walk from this hotel to the train station, which can take you into the city center of Brussels.
"Good stop over hotel near Brussels airport"
Had an unscheduled stop over at this hotel after missing my connection in Brussels Airport due to the first flight being delayed. When I arrived in Brussels airport the staff member told me that I was booked into the Parker Hotel for the night and that I should go to the hotel buses area to get a courtesy bus to the hotel. However I couldn't find the stop for the Parker Hotel (it wasn't mentioned on any of the signs). After asking one of the other bus drivers, I found out that the bus to take was the one for the Holiday Inn Hotel. Arriving at the hotel after approx 10 mins, the staff were excellent and check in was smooth. They gave me a meal voucher and my room key quickly. The meal was buffet style as there were other passengers who had missed connection. The food was really nice and it was 3 courses plus a complimentary drink from the bar. The room was large, clean and spacious and had tea and coffee facilities plus a good sized double bed and television. As I had to leave at 5am I didn't have the breakfast but the hotel did have coffee and croissants in the lobby available for those leaving early. All in all a good hotel for an overnight stop and a transfer distance of 10 mins to the airport was ideal.
"I wouldn't pay for this hotel"
It wasn't our plan to stay at the hotel Parker. We missed our connection and the Brussels Airlines offered us one night stay at this hotel. However we missed the last free shuttle bus and had to pay 20 euros to the driver of another shuttle (he refused to issue a bill). The next part of this adventure continued at the Hotel Parker. Check-in process took about 45 minutes. I wouldn't pay for this hotel. It wasn't clean enough, I even saw few stains on sheets and towels. Room equipment looks old and decrepit and the bed wasn't comfortable at all. I was also glad I had my baggage with me because the hair dryer at our room didn't work. The last point is breakfast. Corn flakes had strange afterstaste and I found several dirty spoons between clean ones. It is the last thing you want to notice at the four-stars hotel.
"Better than sleeping in the terminal"
Like so many other reviewers, I didn't plan on actually staying at this hotel, but rather was booked here by Brussels Airlines after a missed connection. I acknowledge that on a late night, this hotel provided a bed, shower and some food, and for that much I am grateful. That's where the positives end, though. The shuttle bus from the airport only runs until 22.30 or so. You apparently need to call the hotel after that and they'll send a van. Not knowing this, we got scammed out of 20 euros by different shuttle driver who insisted that we had no other choice. Check-in process took almost 45 minutes as the front desk staff was struggling to process the queue of stranded airline passengers, with missing reservations here and there. I can't say the staff is outright rude, but rather somewhat indifferent, with a strong 'not my problem' attitude. We count ourselves lucky that our names actually were on the list and we got a room after waiting out the huge line. The room is adequately equipped, though the beds do feel strange – hard and uneven, as if sleeping on a narrow beam and trying hard not to tumble down to either side. Worse than that, cleanliness really isn't this hotel's strong suit, with spots and stains on the bedding and towels. I would expect more from a four-star property. I appreciate that buffet dinner was available until midnight. The selection was limited, but some fries with gravy, a little salad and a random piece of cake is definitely better than starving. That being said, the breakfast offer somehow tasted all wrong, with foamy eggs and salty sausage. At least the morning shuttle service was fine and the whole experience was over quickly. I would definitely think twice before booking this hotel voluntarily.
