"Not as Good as I Expected!"
Lovely location, brilliant staff and nice appointed rooms. On the face of it a great hotel. However, some things need improvement.- Wifi keeps dropping in the rooms. Only one router per floor! No signal inside the room. Only at the door. Rooms at the front with sea view which you pay extra for you can here next room on the phone every word. Avoid room 1008! Traffic quite loud on lower floors at the front. We had to change! Bed linen past it's best as my pillow case tore in the middle of the night. Golden Tulip needs to up it's game to keep it's reputation. Would not return.
"Right on the Beach, Good Breakfast"
We stayed here for three.days in Rio. After an exhausting ten hour flight it felt AMAZING to be able to take a hot shower and wash off the Brazilian humidity. The room was pretty okay. There were three of us and we were assuming it would be like American hotels, two double or queen bed, but instead, there were three single bed...and we actually liked this. Each of us had a nightstand and lamp and a plug near our bed to charge phones or whatever. The bathroom was spacious and the the shower felt nice. We didn't have any problems. Also, the hotel is LITERALLY across the street from the beach and around the corner from many restaurants and things. It's also not far from a street market that sold all types of stuff...great souvenirs! Anyway, we'd stay again, we enjoyed it.
"Good system for getting salt water off and sand before entering main hotel"
Good hotel across the Avenue Atlantic from Lifeguard station "Posto 5" right on Copacabana Beach, Booths on Saturday's and Sundays are up during the day, so the traffic light is right there so you can cross the Boulevard, Boardwalk, promenade, seawall, sidewalk, melcon or whatever you wish to call a double strollyway on the beach, 3 lane divided roadway, both one way in Mournings. Hotel has dipping pool on top of hotel great view of beach and Sugerloaf, Breakfast included in room price, made to order omelets, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, breads, pancakes, and full breakfast buffet. Beach clean-up in basement, towel, shower, special beach elevator to rooms, entrance from sidewalk in front of hotel, staff all around, wonderful.
"Great Start to a tour of South America"
I stayed here for 3 days before joining a G Adventures tour. I ended up upgrading to huge Business Class Room with lovely views across the beach to Sugarloaf. Modern well appointed hotel, good food, friendly service. Centrally located. I loaned a plug adapter for free during my stay too, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about thye city.
Excellent desk services in check-in and check out. Personnel polite and cooperative. Room service fast and useful. Quiet and clean room. Excellent position (on the Copacabana beach, close to Ipanema beach and to the undergroud stop).
