I've been there for my graduation trip and it was an awesome experience. From the room to the staff and breakfast, it was simply perfect everyday. A little big pearl in the heart of Barça, near to the underground and the Camp Nou.
"This Hotel has seen better days"
I stayed in this hotel for one night, before boarding a cruise the next day. The Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia seems like it has been a very posh hotel, but it has definitely seen better days. Service by everybody who works there was great, from reception, to the concierge, etc. It is not a bad hotel, you can get to it from the airport by metro, and the area it is located is good. There is a big El Corte Inglés just a short stroll away if you want to go shopping. However, as I said, this hotel has seen better days. For the price, some furniture is dated and worn (see photo of armchair). The hotel is not close to La Rambla, but you can get there easily by metro. If I were to return to BCN, I would probably look elsewhere to stay.
Generally speaking all was as expected . Happy with the services and all run smoothly. I recommend it as it is quiet central and clean. Travelled for business . Wi fi was very fast and staff was very polite and friendly
