"Nothing Grand here"
Basic rooms. Food just ok for breakfast. Reception unfriendly and unhelpful. 2 girls on reception were on more than one occasion, more concerned to finish their conversation or continue with menial tasks while customers were waiting for attention. They would shrug and be generally dismissive. Not a smile between them. Staff at breakfast were abrasive. The hotel in general is in a convenient spot and views from the pool superb. One very good aspect was the pool guy who was the friendliest and most helpful. Maybe he could teach the management a thing or two on running this hotel and it's miserable sraff.
This was my first time staying at this hotel. This was my third trip to Israel with some of my family and we were on a tour. We stayed our first night in this hotel and we liked it. the dining room was a little cramped where we had dinner and breakfast.
"Not so GRAND Beach"
I chose this hotel as stayed here many times before and been happy with the choice for the price in Tel Aviv, but my view has changed this time and will be my last stay here. The hotel is going backwards as the swimming pool needs fixing up and a number of the rooms have been refurbished but feels cheaply done, also the breakfast is not as fresh or as good as it use to. It hurts to say this as u was a fan of this hotel. So what has changed my view of this hotel.. To start with we had to change rooms after the first night as the room smelt of damp and had black living mould in the cupboards that was causing a very discomforting smell. As we checked into the room in a hurry as wanted to get to the pool I just thought the smell was heat but it wasn't as it still lingering. Also the room was dirty as had chocolate malteasers and nuts on the floor in between the beds. The hotel manager did not seen too bothered and was happy to just move us. The hotel gets extra busy on a Friday night and Saturday which makes the pool experience uncomfortable as the locals are smoking and playing their music loud. Saturday breakfast is hectic and took 20min to be seated at a table, which I have never experienced before and to help the hotel we let a couple of 2 share our table for 2people. The location of the hotel is the only thing it has going for it as the service and building is deteriorating. There is a fantastic lifeguard by the pool called Chesky and is the nicest friendliest Israeli you could ever find.
Grand beach hotel in need of renovation. Still, the room is clean and quiet. Nice comfy bed. Everything works. Nice views of the sea from window. Good location near the port where there's a kind of boardwalk full of restaurants. Dinner at this hotel was the best we had of 4 hotel restaurants in Israel.
"Very good choice"
Disregard the old fashioned lobby.from the outside looks poor but it is a very good 3-4 stars hotel.Room is small but modern with good bedding , good quality of towels and linens.Extremelly clean, Perfect and free WIFI. Breakfast is very good,Israeli style with Hering ,variety of cheese, juices and great assortment of bread.Fruits too.Juices. Staff is friendly but will not hold your bags unless you ask. Location is fantastic, almost beachfront , but close to excellent restaurants at Ben Yehuda street.Easy transportation around.
