"Cannot be faulted - top class."
I fear I am simply going to repeat the views of fellow trip advisors but this is truly an excellent hotel for the price. It has a four star rating which it fully lives up to in terms of service, quality of accommodation, facilities and location right on the Old harbour front. There is an excellent array of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes along the harbour front and slightly behind. The rooms are very comfortable and well furnished. We had a lovely bathroom. The buffet breakfast is one of the best we have had in recent times and the staff in the restaurant were lovely. Indeed throughout the hotel the staff are excellent. I'm not sure what else to say other than it was a perfect base for a three night holiday in the wonderful city of Marseille.
"Beaufully situated on the harbour."
Very comfortable room with a great view. Staff was helpful. Many places to eat nearby. It is a fairly basic though pleasant place to stay. I was only there for one night and I chose it for its location - which was great!.
The hotel is easily accessible from the metro. It's located in the hub of Marseille and has lots of local resteraunts. Staff were friendly. Ask for a room with a view. Safe neighbourhood for night attractions.
"Grand Location & View!"
This dated grand hotel is ideally situated across the picturesque harbor and right next to the Vieux Port metro station. Our comfortable classic double room w/ queen size bed and fine linens was located on the right side of the building which gave us a nice view of the port and ferris wheel. The overall lighting wasn't the greatest but we did like the handy reading lights on the sides of the bed. The hanging area in the old wooden closet was limited and lacked drawer space! The bathroom with nice thick towels was adequate except for the toilet paper holder that was ill positioned and kind of got in the way. Breakfast was a great adventure at times as the the friendly and helpful staff had trouble keeping up with overall demand which resulted in having to wait for a cleared table, lack of dishes, cutlery and food items. The buffet had plenty to offer but you might want to consider adding poached eggs. The scrambled eggs weren't fluffy as they were apparently undercooked and squeezed into a small pot making them mushy. We did enjoy our overall stay but expected a more stylish room & interior!
"Very considerable staff"
We arrived from Paris vis TGV and we need to take the local subway to the Vieux Port station. It takes less than 10 minutes from the Metro station to the hotel. Difficult for us to find the hotel when we arrived Marseille on a special day. The match day for England and Russia. Full of bottles and broken pieces of glasses on the street. Our room is a port-view room with a small terrace, nice and tidy, with a nice view to the old port. Special thanks to the hotel staff. When we want to get out from the hotel, the hotel staff stopped us and told us not to go out. Around 5-10 minutes later, one of the hotel staffs lead us in person to the Metro station. The police lead us down to the station afterwards. There are lots of restaurant nearby and there is a bus stop for local tour just downstairs (towards the old port side).
