"Wonderful Experience! "
Excellent service. The hotel staff were very courteous, efficient and helpful. The room was clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The buffet breakfast was excellent! Convenient walk to shops, dining and sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again. Five stars!
"Sad and Run-down"
Such a nice location with a fantastic roof-top bar is let down by the abysmal service and very poor standard of rooms. Apparently, there are renovated rooms, however we were in a very old and run-down room with no natual light as all windows opened onto a dingy courtyard that is used by smokers. Our room included the following features: - A door that would only open half-way - Missing plaster in an organce wall that is patched with white filler - A toilet the size of a cat's water bowl - A faulty fuse box that hummed loudly all night - Bedside lamps that would randomly flicker on and off - Various disgusting stains on furniture etc. Within 5 minutes of seeing the room we called reception and politely asked if there were any other rooms available. We were told they would look into this and call us back. We waited 20 minutes and then decided to call to make sure we had not been forgotten. Again, they told us they would call us back. When finally 45 minutes had passed with us not being able to settle down after a long journey, I called again. It was at this point I realised this was a one-star hotel masquerading as a four. The young woman became agressive and simply talked over the top of me, telling me there were no more rooms and maybe they could move us for the rest of the stay. Nedless to say we heard nothing from them. The breakfast area is a sad affair that resembles both in appearance and atmosphere how I would image a mess hall in a mental asylum to be. We didn't want to make a further fuss and simply tried to enjoy the rest of our time in Florence. Upon check-out, our issue was simply ignored and of course there was no enquiry on how our stay was as they simply didn't care. What a horrid, dirtly little place staffed by rude, amateurish staff.
"We loved everything about our stay"
The location is absolutely perfect right in the middle of everything. The rooms are clean with great character and views. The rooftop bar offered some of the best views of the city. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was very good with lots of selection. The bed was very comfortable and all the linens were very plush. We actually stayed here 2 separate times on our trip and they were kind of enough to upgrade us to a nicer room on our second stay and the room was perfect with great views. The hotel offers all the old school charm you would want from Florence, but with all the modern amenities you need.
"Very convenient and excellent accomodations"
We stayed here for four nights in total. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and the location is hard to beat. You're about 5 minutes from the duomo and their are numerous great restaurants a stone throws away. The roof top bar is nice, but it was really cold when we went. Also, drink prices are quite expensive.
"Nice and great location"
We stayed 6 nights in October. This hotel has a great central location close to the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi. This is a lovely hotel and the staff were very friendly. We stayed in a standard room on level 1, which was a good size for Italy. I believe some of the other rooms have been renovated recently, but it was still a good room, despite the creaky laminate floors. The breakfast is a nice buffet of continental and standard eggs and bacon. We thought it was very nice, although I could understand those who may want a greater variety over a long stay. The visit to the rooftop bar is a must. It's a wonderful view over the Florence rooftops to the Duomo. We highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again without hesitation.
