"Plush hotel in the centre of Toulouse"
We arrived too early to check in but were able to leave our luggage which was waiting in our room when we checked in later. The décor is possibly slightly OTT - blue & gold velvet in the spacious reception area & red velvet in the bedrooms & corridors. Staff were very friendly with the exception of one porter who was a bit of a grump. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room so we asked for a kettle which was provided, but without tea or coffee! We had a comfortable room at the side of the hotel so no view but really quiet. Hotel ideally situated on the Place du Capitol with plenty of places to eat. Try the restaurant at the Crown Plaza Hotel nearby - lovely food in a courtyard setting. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as it seemed rather expensive but there are plenty of places for petit dejeuner. There is a metro stop in the Place du Capitol - ideal to get from the train station. Bus from the airport stops not far away.
"Very quiet, elegant rooms, helpful staff"
The rooms are very nicely appointed and extremely quiet. The staff is very wiling and able to help in arranging anything from massages to places to eat. It is situated right on the main square with lots of very, very good restaurants right outside one's door.
"good hotel in the heart of toulouse"
we stayed 2 nights in this very central hotel all was as we expected from a 4 stars hotel a good classic hotel large lobby and a lot of pubblic space we reserve a standard double room we forced to take a superior room (two large king size bed) with an extra charge of 40' the reception imposed to us to take the large room instead the double standard because we was travelling with our son and they declare that they can't accept a child (6year old) to stay with us in a double room (!!!) but why they didnt send me a mail before my arrival to tell me this' this give us an annoyance during our check in at the end we spent a total of 160' quite expensive especially during august (low season in Toulouse) internal parking for bike
"Great hotel but poor breakfast"
This hotel is, in many respects, a five star rating. It is situated on the main square next to the old opera house. It is an attractive and inviting building. The public areas are light, stylish and attractive and the bedrooms are large and inviting though the bathroom was quite small. The staff are helpful and obliging. But there are drawbacks. On our first visit to breakfast there was not one table fit to be used, each was littered with dirty and discarded plates. There was no hot food at all. There was not even any bread. When I asked for some (twice) I was eventually offered a plate with three slices of plain bread. When I said that I would like a baguette I was told they didn't have any. In France' For the first time ever I complained to the management. The next day saw a great improvement. The tables were clean and set and there was more food and bread available. However, for this class (and price) of hotel what was on offer was still pretty limited. I would have expected eggs, cooked to order and a much bigger selection of hot food. All that was offered was scrambled egg which looked frankly disgusting, sausages and bacon. Perhaps when they are busier this is on offer but I can only comment on the service I received. This is, or could be, a first class hotel but is badly let down by the poor quality and lack of choice in the breakfast offerings.
"Location, Location, Location."
This lovely hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the historic area of the city in the Place de Capitole. This beautiful square is a lovely place to wander around or sit and have a coffee or an ice cream. There are lots of interesting streets to explore in the area with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. The river is only 5 minutes walk and the station is about 20 minutes. We took the bus from the airport which stops about 5 minutes walk from the hotel at Jean Jaures. We had a deluxe room (for a good price as it was a last minute booking). The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable indeed. The room was quiet, had lovely armchairs and a coffee making machine. The staff were all friendly and helpful and we felt very at home in this relaxed but elegant hotel. We didn't have the expensive breakfast choosing instead to buy a delicious breakfast from the local patisserie and eat it in the square. There are also plenty of cafes serving breakfast for 6 or 7 euros. We are glad we chose this hotel - the excellent location really enhanced our stay in the city and we would stay there again if visiting Toulouse.
