"Great hotel in the center of Toulouse"
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It is spacious and cosy. Hotel staff are very helpful and always smiling. All sightseeing spots are walking distance around. All small streets have plenty of little shops for any taste. The Capitole is literally in front of the hotel, depending which room you get you might have the view of Capitole. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Toulouse.
Rather strange tucked away round the back of the Capitole square. Very opulent furnishings. Bedroom dark wood and heavy red flock wallpaper. Hard going for 3 days. The reception and dining room staff are lovely and the breakfast is quite good although scrambled or fried eggs would have been a change after the endless omelettes .The dining room for lunch and dinner was in a separate building and was very expensive So ate out at one of the many surrounding bistros. No non alcoholic beers again for this teetotaller.
"Great location and service"
This is a beautiful, character filled, hotel right in the centre of Toulouse, on the Capitol. The rooms aren't large but they have a great cosy feel and all the functionality you need. The service was good, with friendly service and everyone speaks great english if you need it (i did!). I would recommend this hotel for business and leisure too. Being in the centre of Toulouse means that everything is on your doorstep. The only thing to note is that there is a switch which turns all the lights off in the room - be warned that it also turns off most of the electric sockets, so don't assume your phone is charging overnight! Especially if your phone is your alarm clock! - check the socket for the ones that do stay on.
"Should top your list"
I have stayed at the Hotel de L'Opera on a couple of occasions. I was delighted that the reception staff recalled my last visit (about a year ago) and quickly and efficiently checked me in. Staff here is friendly, courteous and very gracious. I can offer more kind words - but let me just say exemplary. The Hotel is in the downtown area and accessiblity is a little of a challenge for Americans used to open roads - two way streets and road signs on posts not building sides (seemingly purposely hidden from tourists as an inside joke by locals). Once you find it, it is a buried treasure. The hotel furnishings are classic, comfortable and well maintained. In classic style, many rooms are sunken or raised, so pay particular attention to your feet as you look at the splendid accomodations or you might trip on a step. I already mentioned the great staff. Breakfast offerings were generous and excellent. Offering breakfast fare typical of French, German, British and Scandinavian countries, everybody could find something to like. I steer clear of the bacon, done in a typical French style, a little soggier and wet than I am accustomed to. I just like my bacon sizzling - and like I said, everything is prepared for somebody's preference - so some things may not be your choice, but enough choices are there that everybody can find something great. The Hotel room is quite comfortable, with free Wi-Fi access that is high speed and first rate. Bathroom is clean with fresh towels and well provisioned. There are two European outlets for your lap top and peripherals to charge (don't forget your plug adaptors) Don't forget to thank and tip the staff, they'll earn it on your stay.
"Great hotel in centre of toulouse"
My husband and I stayed at the Grand hotel de la opera in Toulouse from the 9th March to the 12th March. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and we always got a very warm welcome from the staff when we returned to our room after a long day sightseeing. The hotel is right in the centre of Toulouse in a magical square which is always buzzing with daily markets and there are many cafe's and restaurants lined around the edges of the square so you can sit back and have a drink or have something to eat and watch the world go by. We had a fab time and would go back again. Loved Toulouse.
