The most important museums such as the Poldi Pezzoli, the Royal Palace, the Brera picture gallery - surrounded by the lively artist's quarter - and the Galleria are all just a stone's throw away. "Perfectly Located Fashion District"
This historic hotel places you right in the middle of the fashion district and a short walk to the Opera, Cathedral (Duomo), museums & world class shopping. The staff was friendly, helpful & very professional. Breakfast buffet was exceptional. Our suite was very nice.
"The best of the best! "
We stayed at the grand hotel Et de Milan in September. I honestly can not fault this hotel and staff! We travel often and stay in very nice hotels, but the Grand Hotel Et De Milan was definitely one of our most favorites of accommodation. The service was most definitely of the highest of standards from Stefano on the front desk to Federico the GM. The hotel and staff were impeccable and went well out their way to make our stay extremely pleasant. They adored our children and made sure they were also happy. We loved it that much that we have rebooked for January! Thank you Grand Hotel Et De Milan for making our travels to Milan one of the best! If your looking for perfection and superior, high quality service, this is the perfect hotel from location, to staff to hotel! Thanks you! Ilana
The good experience started already with the booking. The reservation was very efficient and the staff was very helpful, they helped me with some organization for restaurants etc, they were very responsive and did all they could to make this easy. The arrival was also excellent, very fast check in procedure, very friendly staff and also short greeting by the manager. The suite I stayed was very nice, god size, very nice and classy decor. There was no view but it was very quiet which was more important to me than the view. There were some welcome notes from management and also a goodbye message, very personal, and caring, you feel appreciated. Room cleaning including turn down service was excellent. Very nice lobby and bar to have a drink after a long day in e city. Also here the staff is very friendly and efficient. Breakfast room is not really beautiful but staff is nice and the choice and quality is good. At check out again a great service level, very fast and efficient but most importantly very friendly. Really a great service, this makes the big difference to other luxury hotels. Maybe there are hotels with bigger rooms, more fancy equipment etc, but here you have a great welcoming service which makes your experience a memorable one. I will definitely come back whenever in Milano.
"Old world gem!"
My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hotel on our recent trip to Milan and the Piedmont. I must say the hotel was all the old world charm we were hoping for and more. The staff was very helpful and friendly, but not overbearing. The cocktail lounge was gorgeous and served excellent artisan cocktails and also had a good wine selection, even a few demi-bottles. The breakfast was lovely in the morning, and I was grateful they served American style coffee, in cute little pots no less. The eggs were a bit runny for my liking, but if that's my biggest gripe for the week it's a smashing success. Now we get to the rooms... we had a deluxe comfort room (king bed, couch, desk, large wardrobe, giant bathroom) which was both deluxe and comfortable. The bathrobe was big and fluffy and just lovely. Not all 5 star hotels bathrobes are created equal, and this was among the best I've seen (yes, far better than Four Seasons, comparable to Ritz Carlton). Why do bathrobes matter so much, because they do. It makes me feel at home, and when it's a lovely fluffy robe I feel all that more at home which makes for a better stay. And, if that weren't enough, they had soft fleece slippers which were so lovely, I took a pair and enjoyed them the rest of our trip! And finally, we arrived tired and hungry. Even in business class where they wine and dine you a plenty, it's still not a lot when you factor in all the total travel time it took to get from LA to Milan.... their margherita pizza was a thing of magic when we ordered room service right off. Thin crust, yummy cheese, excellent red sauce. When we return to Milan (which we will, I am in love, love, love with Piedmonte... far surpasses Tuscany IMHO) we will always return to the Grand Hotel.
Although we have been to Italy many times, this was our first visit to Milan. For this trip, we selected the Grand Hotel et de Milan and we were not disappointed. We arrived at the hotel early and, therefore, our room was not yet ready. We were told it would take about one hour before we could get our room. When we returned to the hotel we were given an upgrade to a superior suite due to our inconvenience. This was really a gracious gesture on the part of the hotel. The suite was large and well-appointed with all the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Room service and the nightly turndown service were excellent. The lobby of the hotel, as well as the bar lounge area, were impressive. The decor and furnishings were classical Italian. But most importantly, the staff at the hotel, including the front desk and concierges was outstanding. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Milan with easy access to every major attraction all within walking distance. We will certainly return to the Grand Hotel on our next visit to Milan.
