"Beautiful Belle Epoch Hotel in Palermo "
Sometimes faded majesty is more attractive than squeeky modern. It does mean that one can do a waltz in the bedrooms; spacious. And... bathrooms with walk in showers. The position of the hotel on Via Roma is ideal for tourists on foot. Nothing is ever perfect. Ask for, 'senza gluten' at breakfast... I thought I'd got my verbs wrong and inadvertently asked for his sister's hand in marriage 😳.
"short break in palermo"
Lovely old fashoined city hotel . True it has seen better days carpets and room decoration need a top up but lovely public rooms good staff big bedrooms decent breakfast and very central . Resonably priced too . special thanks to bar staff who keeped us going in the evenings .
Amazing hotel, rooms are outstanding. Breakfast and hotel service were beyond our expectations. The offer was amazing, we stayed 3 nights, and third night was for free. We may recommand this hotel as a best stay in Palermo. Keep the good work.
"A Lovely Hotel in the Grand Tradition"
A friend and I stayed in this hotel for two days as part of an archaeological tour of southern Italy and Sicily. Our room was HUGE, as was the bathroom and closet space. While the traditional decor might not be to everybody's taste, it still exuded elegance and style. Palermo is a bit rundown in the area where the hotel is located but the staff still does a great job.
"First impression revised"
Although my first impression of the hotel room was disappointing, mainly due to the website photos that had made the rooms look far grander, I came to appreciate this hotel for all its positive features. It is located in a good neighborhood for restaurants and cafés on nearby Bellemonte, a pedestrian promenade. The public rooms were very impressive, especially the opulent surroundings for the excellent breakfast. The room’s bed and the linens were very comfortable; its beautiful bathroom finished in yellow marble was the best one of our 11-day trip. In many ways, the hotel was in tune with Palermo’s general aura of faded and deteriorated glory. The room’s furniture was chipped and downtrodden; the carpeting in the room (as well as in the hallways) was dirty and worn. But there were more important things, such as a good night’s sleep in surprisingly quiet conditions, that will lead us back here someday for another stay. Maybe by then management will have refurbished the furnishings and carpeting.
