"Great location friendly staff good food."
This hotel is very nice, the staff were excellent the rooms clean and tidy, food very good & location great. However the bed in our room was hard as anything and the pillows the same, teh hotel is dated which is ok as it has a very nice charm, but when taken with the ski shuttle bus, the messing around and time to actually get anywhere it reduced from the overall package and for us it wasn't a 5 star hotel. The ski shuttle service was pretty random and not as efficiently organised as you might think for austria, places in Italy and US way more organised. This was a general let down. The hotel doesn't seem to be responsible for the buses though so maybe someone has to step up if they really want ant to be considered as a potential ski destination, right now they're not, in our opinion of course. This takes nothing away from the staff or hotel but together it's not working.
"More like 3 star."
We booked this hotel on the basis it was a 5 star hotel as a treat. The hotel didn't live up to the expectations. Despite claiming lots of stars as guests throughout the years this hotel has seen better times. Everything is a bit tired and the rooms although they have been renovated they are starting to show signs of ageing. There is a spa area but it's so dark and grotty that we preferred not to use it. The hotel advertises a grand hall which was one of the reasons why we booked. However, this room is not available to guests and can only be used in special occasions. The breakfast was correct, nothing special and definitely not 5 star. Perhaps the best thing of the hotel is its staff. Very attentive and courteous and always willing to help with a smile. All in all, a disappointing experience. This hotel needs massive investment if they want to keep their 5 star rating.
"Like a Fairy Tale!"
Stayed here while boarding Innsbruck and the Stubai Glacier. This place is AMAZEBALLS! Very fancy with an incredibly professional staff. Has all the amenities you could want (except a hot tub for soaking those rough spills). Within walking distance of everything! Busses and transports come right up to the front doors. Very tasty restaurant downstairs, and they kept the wine flowing until WAY past closing.
I was told it’s the only 5 star hotel in Innsbruck. Felt like a 4 start at the most. Service and room felt like 4 star. Breakfast 4 star. Location across from the train station but quiet at night. But the action is really closer to the river which is a good 15 minutes’ walk away. Lobby décor a little dated and tired. Room spacious and comfortable but by no mean luxurious. A little disappointed.
"Great place, ignore the naysayers"
Bad reviews include the bar, the bartenders, the rooms, the facilities, the restaurant, the location. Not sure what people expect when they stay home, but here goes. The bar was classic European, slow paced and quiet. The bartenders were fantastic and made a great negroni. I ordered off the restaurant menu and had a schnitzel at the bar. My room faced the train station and and to my pleasant surprise was very quiet. This hotel is a 10 minute walk from old town and within walking distance of off tourist spots in other directions. Otherwise its clean and friendly, if not a bit understaffed. Would stay there again for sure.
