"2 Nights in Innsbruck"
We stayed in this Hotel half way during our trip from Germany to Italy, it was a very nice experience. First of all the position of the hotel is very good as it is opposite to the train station, with few steps you will be out of the train and inside your room, it also helps in checking out when you want to take your time heading to your train. The room are big, clean and nicely decorated, and the breakfast is very good. Moreover the fact that the city is not quite big you can walk from the hotel to down town in 7 minutes which I really loved. Bare in mind that with all of those features the room price is not cheap, you will end up paying more in compassion to many other hotels down town, so in the end it all depends on what are you looking for. I highly recommend it if you don't mind the price tag.
"Perfect location and a lovely city"
My husband, daughter and I have recently returned from a 3 day trip to Innsbruck, staying in the Grand Hotel Europa. The hotel was perfect for our needs, great location, welcoming staff, nice rooms and lovely breakfast. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the central part of Innsbruck and sits opposite the train station for those travelling by train. It was also just a short taxi ride from the airport, 15 euros. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others staying In Innsbruck.
"5stars Hotel... unacceptable"
The service was at least unacceptable. Girls without experience were working at the reception, they told us to leave the room in the morning and not in the evening, because they had new clients. And if we wanted to make check out later, we had to pay 50€ extra. The food was not bad, but not good enough for a 5 stars hotel. And too expensive for its quality and portion . Also the most ridiculous sauna I have ever seen.
"Poor Value, more like 3*"
Reading previous reviews there seems to be a mixed bag. I'd definitely agree with the more negative ones. The location is ok, 10-15 mins walk to old town, but being on a main road and opposite the train station means it's noisy and not a nice outlook from the room. The lobby is very dated and dull, lacking atmosphere. Check in was fine. The room is ok but not 5 star. The worst issue for us was the heating. The maid left the window open one day and it was freezing. The aircon unit only provides cold, not heat. The heating is not on a thermostat and when we called reception the man who came said people are always complaining of being too hot or too cold. Well if you have only a central heating radiator there's little wonder without a thermostat! Once warmed up it was too hot and stuffy but the road noise meant opening the window was not an option. The bathroom has only a rain shower, no tub or hand held shower. The showers temp fluctuated so was impossible to enjoy. The room lighting was very dim. There is no nespresso machine, iPod dock, ironing board/iron. Just basic tea/coffee, old TV. The beds are hard and the pillows too thin. Breakfast was ok but lacked the variety you would expect of a 5* hotel. Overall it should be half the price and therefore was poor value for money. Don't stay here.
We arrived at the hotel around 10.30am and were very pleased to find that our room was ready. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with a very good knowledge of all activities available in Innsbruck. The restaurant and bar are very relaxing with wonderful food.
