"a wonderful place to be"
Sometimes you visit a place and wish that you'd booked into another hotel when you look around, but this is the one that you will wish you were in if you stay in any of the others. Located on the beach in Mazzaro Bay, this hotel offers beautiful rooms that mostly overlook the bay and are comfortable to stay in, with an air conditioning system that is quiet but very effective. Breakfasts are superb with a fantastic choice that should satisfy every need. Staff are friendly but this can't be said of the cosmopolitan guests who were very unsmiling and uncommunicative almost in some cases to the point of rudeness. This, however, can't be blamed in any way on the hotel or it's staff. There are shops and restaurants nearby and the vibrant town is a short cable car ride away where there are plenty of great places to eat and drink. We will definitely return!
This is a world class hotel! It is perfectly located on a private cove with its own beach. The service is excellent as well as are the amenities. The parking of our rental car was a bit costly, I guess worth it for the quality of the hotel. The only problem was with suite 143 which had a very nasty sewage odor that could not be corrected.
I can't rate this hotel highly enough. However you have to remember that 5 stars on the continent is equivalent to 4 stars in Ireland. Nothing was too much bother for the staff. Any enquiry/request we had was dealt with efficiently and pleasantly from booking restaurants to requesting a kettle for the room! The location is absolutely perfect - breakfast overlooking the bay. It's peaceful and relaxing and the guys around the pool couldn't be more helpful. Bedroom had a really large terrace with sun loungers. All in all a fabulous hotel!
We had a fantastic stay in Mazzaro Sea Palace.I had a leg injury, we were given a free upgrade on arrival, the reception and all the staff were amazingly helpful.Every enquiry / request, was dealt with immediately. Beautiful areas for relaxing in, wonderful dining terrace overlooking the small beach. Seawater swimming pool, lifeguards always on duty. Breakfasts were superb, a huge choice, everything was replaced immediately, tea / coffee brought to the table. There were lots of excellent restaurants close by, (Ristorante Castelluccio....Enrico and staff were wonderful and their food was amazing, eat in the lovely old garden, behind the restaurant, and Il Barcaiola, overlooking the bay,it can be reached by little boardwalk from the beach, both only metres from the hotel.) There are mini- markets just accross the road and busses and the cable car up to Taormina, are only a few hundred metres from the hotel. Tours can be booked at reception, we went to Siracuse and Noto, great day trip. We highly recommend this hotel, everything was just wonderful and we had an amazing stay here, in spite of my leg injury. Thank you everyone.
We stayed here for 4 nights which was plenty. You must book a sea view room as the back rooms only have a view of a wall and you can't even see if it's sunny outside and are dated with carpet. The sea view rooms are more modern and the views are amazing. The breakfast is very good, as is the service. Drinks are way too expensive €18 for a spirit and mixer and €12 for a glass of prosecco which is €5 every where else. The hotel charge €20 a day for parking which we felt was too much. It's a good location for Taormina which you only need about 3 days in and we much prefer Siracusa. The hotel definitely needs modernisation Not a 5 star hotel
