"For The Price this Place was Legendary."
Amazing Location, Greatest Service, ESP the doormen. Amazing interior & the rooms were Las Vegas Good, and thats saying alot since this is norway, everything usually Tight Small and efficient. This place literally everything was just grand felt like one of those $500 rooms. Bathroom was royalty, rooms was huge, beds were great & price was competitive. Stay here is room is under $200.

I took a friend to the new opened wine-bar in the cellar of the hotel as it has received a lot of coverage in local Oslo media. A lot of good stories on the atmosphere, the wine selection, the selection by glass etc. I am sorry to say that this is the biggest disappointment I have had in a very long time indeed. Firstly we were not welcomed when entering the place; we waited for some 10 - 15 minutes before we manage to get a wine-list (after prompting it ourselves). Secondly the wine list is good. For sure. Also by the glass. But the prices are beyond even normal Oslo prices (and they are usually high). We started off with a glass of Italian wine from Sicily (Fessina Erse Rosso). For the price of NOK 178 (€19,75) per glass this is a complete rip-off. Honestly, this is not serious. Was the wine good' No it was not. It was sold to us as a medium/light bodied wine, but was really just flat and way too easy to even name it wine. The second wine was am American Zinfandel from Napa Valley at the price of NOK 199 (€22) per glass. A much better wine, but still for the price not a good bargain either. With the wine we also enjoyed a good plate of ham and cheese, which outperformed the wine by far (NOK 290 for two @ €32). Conclusion: A total waste of time. A service level below even average Oslo standard and with prices that we don’t really understand. What do they try to tell us' A quick market study would help management to realize they are way off market. Save you money and go somewhere else. /jr
"Great location, lovely tradiional hotel"
Just stayed one night here. Room was a decent size with bath and shower. It was just before Christmas and the Christmas market was across the road. The bar was full by 19:30 and appered to be the place to be seen. The location of the hotel is a straight walk from the train station used to connect to the airport (if you dont have large luggage) through a pedestrianised street.
"Oslo's Grand old lady is back!"
The newly refurnished Grand Hotel brings a much needed feeling of continental Europe to Oslo. Nice lobby bar, a lavish lounge perfect for afternoon tea, the newly reopened Grand Cafe restaurant next door (were they also serve a fabulous breakfast) and a great spa on the top floor complete with swimming pool, sauna and steam bath. The spacious superior rooms are the best value for money play, but go for one of the suites if you like to feel like a Nobel peace prize laureate.
I'm very satisfied about the room, the room service, the cleaning, the desk service and the staff. I'm not satisfied about the spa, I have booked my reservation also in relation of that but when I asked it was full of reservation and the 1st of January was closed
