"Via Veneto ruined my first day in Rome"
Expertly greeted by doorman who assisted with our bags and escorted us to reception. And that was the best part of our stay. For some reason a police officer and someone in a suit, disrupted our check-in and instead of getting help the one receptionist decided to deal with both of us to the point of being flustered and really not focusing on our check-in. He forgot about the water he offered us and was generally disorganized. My wife was exhausted and unwell from our days travel and our room wasn't ready at the Check-in time of 2pm, but were told it would be ready in 20minutes. We were offered to sit and wait in Lobby, we weren't offered any water or coffee and we were soon forgotten. Seemed to be others waiting to get into there rooms also in the lobby. Not a good start for a 5-star hotel and the professionalism score dropping fast. After complaining twice and 45 minutes later we were given a key to our room. I asked to speak with a manager and had to ask a second receptionist to stop talking to me because she wanted to explain, "It's not our fault." It took two more requests to see a manager before the GM came to greet us. The GM was very polite but she was only disappointed if we didn't want to stay. There was a language barrier but still she was unfazed and truly uncaring that we did not want to stay our full seven days. She said she didn't think she could do anything for us until my wife was feeling better. The room is part of an attached/separated suite. Our room was big, but looked empty and lacking personality or any luxury of a 5-star hotel. It felt like they removed the twin beds from the kids room installed a queen bed and a siting table. Most of all to our, displeasure, there was no bathtub. Thank you to Sara the evening duty manager. She contacted us to see if my wife was feeling better and was very understanding and better equipped to handle our poor treatment. Had I spoken with Sara that afternoon, I'm positive we would have stayed the full 7 days. But after dealing with the GM Maria that afternoon, I felt it best to honor the 48 hours cancellation and immediately booked the remaining 5 days with another hotel down the street. Via Vineto ruined my first day in Rome and I will never speak highly of this hotel.
"Great hotel - excellent service"
Great location in Rome - not all 5 star hotels are of the same quality. This one is wonderful. Concierge service is great. And although I did not have the bidget this time for the biggest suite - the rooms a re spacious and wonderful.
"Spent 4 days in Rome after our Crystal cruise."
We loved the location of this hotel and walked to Spanish Steps, Trevi, before a taxi could get us there. Service was superb and hotel boutique quality that had large rooms and baths. Check-in was fast and personally taken to our rooms, Housekeeping was very attentive to all the guests. Excellent visit!
This hotel had the best service I have ever experienced! The staff was very respectful and the service was prompt. The rooms were modern with large bathrooms. The restaurants and bar at the hotel were amazing. I would highly recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome.
