Room was excellent -- comfortable and clean. The lobby at this particular Grand Hyatt not as impressive as others. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Comment of A. Raul , United States the 2014-05-31
"Always a good stay"
Have stayed here several times and have always had a good stay. Valet and front desk staff are very helpful and caring. Rooms are large and clean and bathrooms are updated but still standard hotel bathrooms ( nothing to write home about.) The club level give you a little more to snack on e.g. light bites and drinks. The only sad thing is that their restaurant bar area has pretty much turned into a bar/light bites scene with no real dinner options. I was surprised to find that out and when I spoke to the waitress she stated that I would have a better meal ordering from the in room dining menu. They have a great breakfast buffet however its always short staffed and food needs to be replenished sooner since many patrons were just standing and waiting for food to come out. The garden at the hotel is very nice and overall the hotel is lovely with comfy beds, quiet and clean. I prefer this hotel over the Intercontinental and the W. Room service is also very quick for such a large hotel.
"I return to this hotel time and again."
I have family in the Buckhead area so visit at least 2-3 times per year and have stayed in many of the local hotels. This property ranks in the top 2 or 3, in part because as a Hyatt Goldpassport top ranked member I get access to the Club level amenities which includes fabulous food and beverage offerings, particularly for breakfast. MUCH better than the Buckhead Westin, by comparison, which is right up the block. Staff is universally friendly and helpful
"Not up to the standards one expects from a Grand Hyatt"
I stayed here two nights for a conference. Overall the experience was find but not what I expect from a Grand Hyatt. The hotel is of course lovely, in a great location, and the staff is super friendly. However, there were a number of slipups which I don't expect from Hyatt. I'm a Discoverist member and a couple of days before arrival was offered an as-available upgrade to the Club Level for a minimal charge which I accepted. Not being familiar with the hotel when I was put in a room for the 16th floor I thought nothing of it, but when I got to my room there was no info for the Club which is typical of a club level room. I called down to the front desk and they asked me to come down to have Club access added to my key and to get the card with Club info. They said the rooms were all the same so they didn't change me to 24 which is the Club level. The Club itself was lovely, a nice spread of food and drinks for both breakfast and in the evening, great staff, not crowded, and I'm glad I went for the upgrade. The first night of the conference, dinner was buffet. They opened the buffet line which was in the corridor but after taking our food we discovered the banquet room itself was not yet ready or open so everyone was standing around with plates of rapidly-cooling food they could not eat. How does this happen' On checkout day I called down for a late checkout which as a Discoverist is supposed to be a perk of membership. They said that because of tight inventory they could only give me until 12:30. Okay, I understand that late checkout is "based on availability" but when I went back to the room at 12:15 to finish packing and retrieve my bags the key card had already been deactivated. Back to the front desk and of course they reactivated the card but no real apology or attempt to compensate. Finally the climate control system either doesn't work well or is inadequate. Granted the weather was crazy -- it was 85 when I got to the hotel and at the same time the next day it was 45. But my room was stifling hot and then got really cold, and the Grand Club was also unpleasantly warm. Not terrible by any means but in my book Hyatt usually means perfection and this was far from that.
"24th floor at Hyatt never disappoints"
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in a very nice area, love Buckhead. We upgraded and valet parked. It was not regretted. We enjoyed the views, the snacks morning and evening, and valet parking was very fast and effortless. The staff was courteous. Our room was clean and well stocked. Would like to see Queen beds in lieu of full but we still slept great!
"Warm and friendly staff"
Throughout my stay the staff at this lovely and well-located hotel opened doors, asked me how my day was going, thanked me, etc. I really appreciated their "Southern hospitality." The rooms are spacious and well designed and the gym was nicely appointed.
