"Nice hotel attached to airport terminal"
Very accommodating staff, clean and modern gym, spacious room. Only disappointment was that the food options are limited and pricey. There are NO OTHER FOOD OPTIONS unless you go through airport security (which you can't do without a boarding pass anyway).
"Good hotel good location"
For the business travelers who want to have a quick stay in Dallas to, this is a good choice. The hotel is in terminal D, you can check out from your room and catch the airplane in 15 minutes. Make sure ask one of the front desk staff to validate your airport toll ticket if you are driving in.
"Avaricious at the Airport"
The hotel itself is okay but from the moment I walked in I got the sense that I was no more to anyone who worked there anything other than a mark. My room rate was $243 per night (but I didn't know that because my travel agent booked me) and I asked to stay another night. The front desk clerk (Nancy) said if I stayed a second night my rate for the same room would be $537!!! She was basically seeing how stupid I was I suppose. I decided to not change my travel plans and just stay one night. They closed the gift shop in order to open a better revenue-generator (coffee house) although they still tell people they have a gift shop (at least in the literature in the room. I needed a few items so I went downstairs to where the hotel literature guided me and Nancy said they had closed it several years ago and asked me what I needed. Well, I needed an item that I didn't want to discuss with a front desk clerk (and which they almost certainly wouldn't have behind the front desk (okay, a rubber). So I left, empty handed and frustrated. I ordered room service (hangar steak) and some wine. Both were very expensive and the COLD steak was all of about 5 ounces, the greens were inedible but the mushrooms were okay. The wine was okay (Malbec) but was a common variety that didn't warrant the $60 price tag per bottle or 13 per glass. Total for a meal that left me hungry, $73, not including wine. Breakfast wasn't much better...dry, cold eggs, bacon cooked the night before, $43. Maybe Nancy's attempt at turning me upside down and emptying all the money out of my pockets about the room colored my impression, but I'll never stay there again. It's convenient but there are plenty of other places to stay on my next trip to Dallas.
"DFW and beyond"
Wonderful hotel please consider it over any within 10 miles. I would have skipped due to location but glad I did not. The staff was friendly and at my service. The room could not be matched by any hotel in close proximity. Parking although at airport was validated, beyond safe and easy than I thought.
"The Oasis of DFW Airport!"
Twice in the last few months Americant Airlines has stranded me in DWF airport. Rejecting their overnight accommodations I have availed myself of the warm and welcoming hospitality of the DFW Grand Hyatt. The hotel has a zen like feel which is exactly what a weary traveler is seeking. The front desk is friendly and efficient. Tim at the bar will fix you a libation to begin the recuperative process while Jena will recommend snack and wine pairings. Little did I know that the restaurant was renowned within the Hyatt group and in my opinion beyond! Chef Ortiz not only plates a beautiful dinner, he is willing to share his secrets! Our waiter, Aaron, was charming and informative and I was impressed with the selection of heated cutlery. Could not have enjoyed dinner more! To the staff at the Grand Hyatt I say thank you very much for pull the disaster which was our 30th anniversary trip out of the fire and into a wonderful memory!
