"Poor guest service"
I stayed here for 9 nights in April 2017 for a conference. I was out most of the day and just came back for the nights. Upon reservation (in February) I called and asked for a sofa bed in my room for two night when a friend was staying with me and I was promised one. When checked-in I reminded them and was told it shouldn't be a problem. The weekend when my friend arrived they denied my request and their promise. The manager was so disrespectful. Also, if you're looking for a place to sleep well it's not where you should go. Every night people honked in the street till 2AM. The windows aren't soundproof and you have to hear all downtown craziness.
"Good place for a conference, not worth it for a vacation hotel."
The room was clean and the service was excellent. However, I was surprised that there was no shuttle from the airport to the hotel - this is a hotel which hosts many conferences. I was also surprised by the lack of stairs to floors 1-3. The stairs are not adjacent or convenient to the lobby area. However, the location is central which makes it handy if you don't have much time to search for food options.
My room was shabby - the upholstery was stained and worn, although I did appreciate having a chaise lounge, so much more comfortable than a bed. The furniture looked like it had seen better days and only two tiny drawers. The Hyatt doesn't understand that tea drinkers don't like tea that tastes like coffee.
"Beautiful hotel and service"
Staff are great in every part of the hotel starting with check in, room service, conference facilities, audio, cleaning services, food, and Grand Club. The Fitness room is well equipped. The fifth floor balcony overlooking the river was very enjoyable and nice to view the parade on April 24th, the annual event.
It was fairly standard in my opinion. There are both vacationers with children running around, but also many people attending conferences. It's a very clean place and the staff is very good about responding to customers' needs (including if you bring a dog to them from the streets because you can't get in contact with the humane society). The one big thing that bothered me is that they expect all guests to use the elevators. This means that, at times, it can take several minutes to get an elevator because they're constantly stopping to pick more people up.
