"Great Three-Day Stay"
Easy, mobile check-in. Had room on high floor but never had to wait for an elevator and never made more than one or two stops going up or down. Beautiful views. Room was spacious and very modern. Staff were friendly. Only drawback was restaurant which served only OK food. Very convienent to all SF attractions.Would definitely stay here again but eat elsewhere.
I stay at this hotel frequently and it never disappoints. My room had a nice view of the city and was clean with modern amenities. The hotel is literally on Union Square so convenient to shopping and restaurants. The club level is very nice with a stunning view, but frequently crowded. Check in was easy and online check out was available. I decided to stay in one evening and the Concierge was very helpful in recommending a restaurant that delivered.
My family of three spent five nights here just prior to Thanksgiving. We had an executive suite with two bathrooms, and at checkin we opted to add on the Club lounge for an additional $50 per night. Our teen daughter said it was the best hotel we've ever stayed at. Our room was around the corner from the elevator. While I could hear the elevator, at first I thought it was wind outside. It was more white noise than annoying or intrusive. We had an issue with the toilet running all night, and called the front desk first thing in the morning. Maintenance came up within minutes and fixed it, as we never had another issue with it during our stay. The room was really dark due to the automatic shades, and the temperature stayed what you set it at. It was wonderful! We loved having lounge access. I know the week before Thanksgiving isn't a really high occupancy period, but the only time we had problems finding seating was if we went 15-20 minutes before breakfast was over. At 7:30 or 8 am, you had your choice of seats, including by the windows with the gorgeous views. You could see Alcatraz Island, Coit Tower, etc. Each day for breakfast there were scrambled eggs and omelette toppings such as ham, bacon, tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, green onions. Some days there were bacon and sausage. There were always whole and cut fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, pastries, bagels with cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, capers, etc. We loved the machine that would make various espresso drinks. You could take bottled juices and water to go. Employees were wonderful, and the hotel was incredibly convenient if you have shopping on your agenda. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, and very convenient to public transportation as well. There were always multiple Lyft drivers within 1 minute of the hotel if we felt like going somewhere without waiting for a cable car or bus. We would definitely stay there again.
Hotel is in a great location near union square and tons of restaurant. The rooms are smaller than most hotels I guess due to location. Went there with family but staff wasn't as friendly for Grant Hyatt..checked in but wasn't even recognize or thanked as a platinum member. I let it go not worth the hassle since they didn't even care (I've stayed in the past on business and was treated better). Not sure if I would come back to stay here again. Parking at the hotel via Valet is very expensive at $67...park across the street at half price.
"Convenient and Pricey"
Perfectly located among the shopping district and a quick Uber ride to the Piers. Amenities are nice with a very good restaurant and bar area on the second floor. Work out area has terrific views. Everything in SF is expensive but there were some things that I even thought were exorbitant. $40-50 a day to park and $3 for a 6 oz soda were among some of the over the top costs. Rooms were decent sized and beds were comfortable. All in all a very good visit.
