"Great hotel, convenient location!!"
Stayed at the Grand Hyatt in October. It was a great experience. The hotel is located at union square which makes it very convenient. Union Square is a great shopping area. We were close to Chinatown, only a block away from the cable cars and street cars which helped us get around San Francisco very easily. Only spent a few days in the city but I got to see and do so much in that time. The Concierge was extremely helpful. They assisted us with renting a car twice. The car was delivered to the hotel and was effortless. The concierge was very knowledgeable with the public transportation.saved us time getting to the sites we wanted to see. My room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom a nice size and clean. There is a mini fridge and safe- both very small. There was a normal 1875 watt hair dryer which was awesome. Water pressure in shower wasn't the greatest but that's me just being picky. I would definitely use this hotel again. Things I did while in San Francisco- Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Pier 39 sea lions, Ghirardelli Square, Chinatown, Alamo Square (under construction) to see the Painted Ladies, mosaic steps (great view of the city), Lombard street, Chrissy field (great view of Golden Gate Bridge), Ferry Market. We also spent a day going to Monterey - went to aquarium, drove the 17 mile ride and went to Carmel beach. Another day we went to Muir Woods, Sausalito and Napa Valley. California is amazingly beautiful. It was a great trip.
"Right in the center"
We spent a long weekend in San Francisco and this hotel was great. Steps away from Union Square, walking distance to the MoMA, and nice walk to the other high lights. Liked the common spaces, decor is very original and funky.
"Grand Hyatt Pre-cruise Stay"
Great location. Room was modern and updated. Just spent 2 nights prior to a cruise. Easy walk to trolley stops and many restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was a little pricey but good.
"Cozy and comfy"
If you're looking for an excellent location, modern vibe, and very friendly customer service, this is a great selection. I've stayed at other area hotels, including Union Station, though first time here. I'lol be back.
"Comfortable and well-located; gym could be better"
I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco. The rooms are comfortable, with impressive views (see pictures). Quiet if on upper floors. Breakfast is a bit expensive for the quality, and service is slow (so plan some extra time). The one thing I would like to see improved is the gym: It is larger than in most hotels, but then the hotel is larger as well, which means you end up waiting to access weight training machines and dumbbells, which is annoying at this price point
