"Great looking hotel, but room was a furnace"
This is a great looking hotel: open, magnificent lobby with excellent city views; roomy, well-appointed rooms and suites with big bathrooms and views of the city from your room. Great selection of restaurants. Even a lively lobby lounge with live music every evening. Central location, and not excessively pricey. But, can not recommend this hotel based on our experience. Upon arrival we noticed that the room was unusually warm (outside temperature was in the 20's 0F). Set the thermostast to the lowest level and tried to go to sleep. The room did not get significantly cooler. In the morning, we reported it to the front desk and was told to simply turn the heater off and that fresh air would circulate through the room. Did as directed and went out for the entire day. Upon our return the room was still too warm and we reported it again. A technician came to our room and tried to fix the problem, but a second night of poor sleep followed. We reported it again and left for the day on a tour. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency back home. But, when we came to our room to pack our things to head for the airport, the room was still too warm. It doesn 't really matter what great amenities a hotel may have. If you cannot have comfortable sleep due to a room's heating/cooling system, this hotel can not be recommended. Sadly, that is the case with the Seoul Grand Hyatt.
"great views...aging rooms...crap breakfast for diamonds..."
The location of this hotel is ok...its about 15 min walk from metro..but there is a shuttle that goes there...the hotel its self was good..lobby was huge with amazing views of the city...i used my diamond suite to upgrade to the grand king suite...its not the biggest suite but its big for korea...the room was aging...some of the furniture looked old...but at the same time it was well taken care of...the breakfast for diamonds was bad..very small limited options..maybe my opinion was skewed bc I came from thailand and was spoiled by the huge buffets there.
"Beautiful classy hotel"
Had a wonderful stay. Situated on a hill overlooking the city- stunning views, especially at night and with the morning sunrise. The hotel leads directly to the walking trails of Namsan Park- can easily spend a few hours hiking through the woods. Great selection of restaurants and bars- pricey but good quality. Breakfast buffet at the Terrace was delicious. Room was small but illusion of a larger space with clever use of mirrors and lighting- very comfortable large king bed. 15 min walk to Itaewon- a funky area with great choice of International restaurants/ bars and clubs. The hotel provides a shuttle bus on the hour. Loved this hotel and would definitely stay again.
"Wonderful/Perfect/Peaceful in Sophistication"
Grand Hyatt in Seoul has been one of the best hotel I have ever been stayed during my 2m miles business trips. Atmosphere is so comforting together with standard Grand Hyatt quality I got used to have. Internal design is both sophisticate and simplistic at the same time. All Team members are showing again standard respect of Korean people I admire. They are there for you at all time to please you. Spa is also another perfectness.Fittness center, sauna, changing rooms, pool is one ofthe best if not the best. When I go to Seoul I will not stay in any other hotel. Thanks Grand Hyatt
"Room - WOW, But Far From Public Transportation"
Many positives for this hotel, but quite a walk to public transportation, hence I gave it very good instead of excellent. We stayed the first week of October 2016 for two nights. The hotel is quite palatial with an expansive lobby looking out over the grounds and the city. Check-in was smooth with very polite, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who recognized our Platinum status. Highlights: - Our room,1616, had a great view of the river through wall to wall, floor to ceiling, windows. It was fun watching the city light up at night. - Wonderful fluffy and light comforter with equally wonderful pillows - Two places to open suitcases, - In addition to our king size bed there was a love seat, ottoman, desk, chair, DVD player, big screen tv, and mini bar, - Many, many outlets. I counted nine. Having said that, charging took forever when using the ones by the desk, - Great bathroom with many amenities, and all that you would expect at a Grand Hyatt, but also that wonderful multi-function toilet with the heated seat. Love that! Although some have noted that the little 4" step up to the bathroom was a problem, we did not have an issue with it. We ate breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed the mammoth buffet. What a fabulous sight! I could have stayed all morning. We also purchased some snacks at the little bakery/deli shop near the restaurant. Prices were very high, but it was convenient when we were tired and wanted to snack in our room. Did not use the spa or pool, but when looking at the pool from our room it never was busy. The pool is in the back on the expansive grounds. Very lovely. Transportation to Incheon airport could not be easier. The KAL bus stops right at the door and makes a couple stops prior to Incheon, but the seats are comfortable and the price is minimal. You can buy your tickets at the Hyatt desk and charge them to your room. Since the property is on a hill you have to walk down to leave it. But you do have your choice of many little restaurants, coffee shops, and bars as you make your way down to Itaewon. Centrally located and easy to get anywhere via taxi. We would stay here again.
