Very central to the shopping paradise on Orchard Road. As it was my birthday the hotel staff upgraded us to a suite. How can anyone complain' Although there was an issue concerning our bill, the problem was resolved very quickly and professionally in our favor.
"The more you stay, the more disappointing..."
Over the past 3.5 years, my husband has stayed here frequently for business travel, and over these years I have tagged along on numerous trips. My last review of the Grand Hyatt Singapore was a little over 2.5 years ago, and after many visits, I feel I have to adjust my rating. I have personally stayed in at least 10 Hyatt properties in the Asia region, with 6 of them being Grand Hyatt's; my husband, even more. We're not sure if the management has changed, the staff has become complacent, or just not trained well - but the service at this property does not live-up to the standards of a Grand Hyatt. Here are a few examples of areas where improvements are needed: - Front Desk - After numerous stays over the past few years, my husband will still be greeted at the FD with, "I see this is your first stay with us Mr. XXX, welcome to the Grand Hyatt Singapore". This has happened on a number of occasions. He has stayed at this property at least 5-10 times, if not more. - With the new World of Hyatt program, a complimentary upgrade to a suite should have been given (if available). When he inquired about the WOH complimentary suite upgrade, without his permission the FD agent deducted from his account 1 of his yearly upgrades, and told him he could have the suite for the last 7 days of his stay. We have since then fixed it with Hyatt, but the FD staff is clearly not trained on the new program yet. - Concierge - We asked them to make dinner reservations for us. We were happy they were able to confirm a reservation, until the day of our dinner when I looked a little closer at the address and realized they made the reservation at the wrong place. I'm not sure how this happened as I provided them with the name and website of the restaurant and there is only one location. Attention to detail of the concierge here - not so good. These are just a few examples of how Grand Hyatt Singapore stands out from other Hyatt's in the region - and not in positive ways. We love Hyatt, and choose to stay at them more than any other big named properties; however, the more we stay at this particular property, the worse it gets.
Good overall conditions, food very good, cordial staff. Good location in Singapore, central to most businesses and shops. Within 25 to 30 minutes of the airport. Good nightlife within the immediate vicinity.
"Another great stay at the Grand Hyatt"
The Grand Hyatt Singapore is in a great location in the Orchard area that is near the MRT, shopping and lots of restaurants. The staff here is fantastic. Everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay an enjoyable one. My husband is a diamond member and the breakfast and evening food is amazing. The staff knows everyone by name and makes you feel right at home. This is an exceptional property and I would not hesitate to stay here
"Very good Hotel"
I can highly recommend this Hotel if you are in town for business. Try to get the Club level in order to get all the advantages of the lounge. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant has many different variations of food an I am sure everyone can find something tasty.
