Die Lage neben der Grand Central Station ist perfekt. Das Essen halt wie in Amerika so ueblich. Dies bedeutet Mc Donald's ist nicht wirklich schlechter nur günstiger. Wer das mag kann auch mehr ausgeben z. B. im Grand Hyatt Restaurant. Es gibt sicherlich preisgünstigere Alternativen aber die Lage ist halt perfekt. Das Zimmer und die Sauberkeit war ok. Wenn man allerdings deutsche Hotel Standards anwendet gaebe es sicher die Eine oder Andere Sache zu kritisieren. Ich wuerde dieses Hotel aber wieder buchen.Comment of R. Loved it! Was greeted by a woman who upgraded us because we applied for hyatt gold club and checked in on yelp. She gave us tons of tips also! It was a very quick turn around for me, perhaps 12 hours or so and most of the time was spent either in Time Square or sleeping. But my experience was great in the hotel, almost made me wish I had a little more time in town. I had a good sit down in the bar for about an hour before I headed upstairs to sleep. I didn't eat in the hotel, so I can't comment on the food, but the Deli in the Lobby that sells everything from coffee, candy, bananas, other food items and even wine is very handy. Ik have stayed here before and having the hotel on top of Grand Central Station is great. The people who run the hotel are extremely friendly and very nice.Comment of A. "Excellent hotel - great location"
This is a huge hotel - you can get lost in its enormous size. However, the hotel personnel were extremely helpful. Great service. The fitness center has excellent equipment. The food at the 2d floor restaurant was very good. And you cannot beat the location - central to everything in NY.
"Great room but impersonal"
We took a suite at this hotel for our 3 nights in NYC. The room was excellent and huge, especially by New York standards. The food at breakfast was only ok and the feel of the hotel is very business like. Once you have checked in, you will never see or hear from any staff member again your entire trip. This may suit some people too.
"Think beyond just making money "
We are avid travelers n stay in lot of hotels. We are regular at Marriotts however have stated in few Hyatt hotels in India. However grand Hyatt New York has been the worst experience so far. We landed at the hotel n there was on one to help us with the luggage . We dragged the luggage till the lobby ourselves only to wait in the line for checkin. Checkin was done smoothly however as in other hotels we were told nothing about the facilities. We dragged our bags to the room only to find our carpet was not vacuumed. I could see litters of previous guest. During the entire stay the litters were still there. No one in the hotel believes ingreeting the customers as employees would pass us without even a smile, I don't think it's too much to expect. I have always seen turndown service been given however not even a single day turndown service was given in our room. I don't know if it's a policy of grand Hyatt New York. During the checkout not even once the girl asked us how was our stay even though we stayed for 7 nights. She printed a wrong bill then gave us the right bill n asked me if I need an envelope to keep the bill seriously we are paying u 350 dollars a night n the staff is asking this question. After giving the bill thats it no thank u for staying or come back again.... horrible horrible customer experience. We are never coming back again. U charge for everything even keeping luggage at the bell desk desk for an hour at least give some service. Ya one more thing they don't keep any amenities in the room u have to ask for everything.
"Good for business conferences. Not great for vacation..."
Been to a few hotels in NY. This one had a huge lobby that subbed as a conference meeting area so closed half the time. They have a small "market" inside to buy snacks and drinks-prices are quite high, i would buy in a supermarket outside and bring in. Elevators are terrible! A full row of them- half go to floor 24 and the other all the way up but it seemed that only 1-2 worked at any given time and once they arrived they were full. Plan your departure time with a 10 minute wait for an elevator or take a low floor room and use the stairs. Rooms are a good size and seemed clean but bathtub was peeling, no shower handle and personally didn't care for the smell of the amenities. Air conditioner worked on low even when changing fan to high and noise from the street was unbearable when opening the window (didn't expect countryside quiet but this was too much). The hotel is adjacent to grand central station which is convenient to subways and trains but outside area isn't very pleasant- many homeless beggars and overall doesn't feel safe to walk around when dark outside. Just keep all this in mind when looking for a hotel room. Enjoy the city 😃
"Grand Hyatt New York"
Overall experience is if a 2 star model. The decor has a cold feeling to it, there was a lack of graciousness eg no tea and coffee making facilities in room, having to pay $3 to have your luggage stored for 2 hours before leaving for airport.
