"Elegant, professional, truly grand hotel"
Have stayed here a dozen times over the past 15 years. It is absolutely my favorite hotel anywhere. Immaculately clean, warm and professional staff who provide top level service and make you feel at home. The restaurants are amazing, as is the fitness club and business centre.
The hotel had a great location. There was a small convenience store open 24 hours at the ground floor and a 12 minute walk to restaurants that close at 3am, 5am or one that was even open 24 hours for a full meal. The lady at concierge was very helpful in helping us purchase something only available online (which was in Korean so we needed her help badly). And the breakfast buffet was awesome! Talk about vast choices 👏🏻👏🏻
"Staying in Seoul Gangnam Style!"
The hotel is very nice and our room was very nice. Upon arriving, we were upgraded to a suite, which was a pleasant end to our day's journey. The room was nice. The breakfast buffet is huge and nice. Pretty much everything about this hotel is nice and you can't go wrong by staying here. What was outstanding was the staff and the service they provided. They were always extremely courteous, but in a genuine way. They spoke excellent English and everyone was dressed professionally. They seemed to take pride in their work and it showed. The hotel is in a great location with lots to do within walking distance. Would return if opportunity arose, if only to be serviced by hotel staff that makes you feel as if you're their number one priority.
"I won't be back"
I was unimpressed at best with this hotel. While the hotel itself is in a very good location close to COEX and the COEX Mall (below) and is clean and neat, the staff basically ruined the experience for me. I tried to use the concierge a few times and they were very abrupt with me and only gave me extremely basic information. And don't expect to get even a smile or anything resembling friendliness from the taxi line. Yes, I understand that everyone is entitled to a bad day - but this was everyday while I was there. In addition, the food is extremely overpriced in the restaurants based on the quality. If you do stay here buy your food at the quickshop in the building lobby next door. You can buy a weeks worth of nice food and beverages there for the price of a breakfast in the hotel.
"Staff are their best assets"
The impression from lobby to room to dining is indeed a Grand hotel, old class elegance. I was in a junior suite, which was sufficiently large although still bare as compared to the opulence of other grand hotels such as Ritz Carlton or Raffles. Upon check in I found an item left behind by the previous occupant so housekeeping must have overlooked it while cleaning out. Room service is tremendously pricey, though for a busy executive going down to the mall for meals probably took more time. I left my room service tray outside the room after dinner unfortunately this was not picked up nor cleared by housekeeping overnight as the tray remained there next morning. Breakfast buffet choices are ok, but this hotel is so crowded on Saturday's be prepared to wait 30mins to get seated or just go very late, after 9.30am. Staff are the hotels best asset, they speak English well and uniforms well ironed and appearances are very neat and professional. Overall this hotel impressed me less than the other international chain of hotels like Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons for similar price. For the very reason the hotel is big but crowded and noisy all the time. Location is ok, long ride to Incheon nearly 1hr 40mins and is the last stop of the airport bus. COEX mall is just adjacent and air city terminal is next door which makes airport check in very convenient. Don't get confused with Intercontinental COEX which is just 10 mins walk away and connected underground via COEX to Grand Parnas.
