"A Great Stay"
The hotel is located in the busy street of Bukit Bintang. So basically once you exit the hotel, there are shopping malls around it. Check in was fast. The reception staffs were polite. Rooms are clean and wifi connection was strong. Eventhough there was a construction just beside the hotel, the noise was minimal. Overall we had a pleasant stay. Since it's located at the busy street, please do expect high traffic.
"Not just location"
GMKL is located in the Bukit Bintang Area, where it is bustling filled with activities. Pavilion is just next door. So shopping and food is never a problem. Fahrenheit and Lot10 is just across the street. The hotel has the a grand facade, comparable to the other international hotel chain. Service is also close to top notch. But as with other hotels where huge tour groups tend to occupy all the areas. Finding a place within lobby area to sit down can be a challenge at times. We booked a smoking room for my colleague but was not available at check in. They only have 2 floors of smoking rooms. But they assisted to change over to a smoking room the following day. And they kept that promise. Assists to switch over the luggages as well. Great service. Breakfast was on 1st floor and had a good spread. What was annoying though was we had to sign the dine in voucher with the breakfast price stated. They assured us it was just a procedure and we will not be charged for that since it is included in our room charge. But 8 of us have to fill up the charge slip for the entire week before breakfast. It should be in the guest list automatically as in other hotels. Just a small matter though. We were indeed not charged extra In summary, great hotel to stay in when you are in Kuala Lumpur.
"Great Staff & Location"
Stayed for 3 days 2 nights over the weekend. Here is my comment: Pros: Location is great, KLCC is walking distance, other shopping complex is just besides the hotel. Breakfast buffet is great. A lots of choices. Swimming pool area is OK, clean and quite. Reception for check in & check out is very good, the staff was very attentive and helpful. Bellboy, friendly and very helpful Room was ok, and the bed was very comfy. Cons: The Bathroom look so old and not up to date. There's a lot of stain on the bath tub and sink. TV reception is worse as u can't watch any with that blurry screen. I didn't order in room dining as there are a lots of restaurant near the hotel. Other that that everything is OK with me.
"Standard hotel, rude staff"
This hotel has a great location and standard rooms and facilities for the price point. The pool is a little dated, but still very nice. My main problem with this hotel was the staff. If you’re looking for rude treatment, stay at the Grand Millennium. Everyone from the doormen to the concierge had an attitude, however, my check in/check out experiences were the most unpleasant. I arrived at 2pm when check out was supposed to start and was coldly informed that I would have to wait an additional 45 minutes for my room to be ready. This was no problem at all, and I completely understand that these things happen. The problem was the unapologetic, unfriendly attitude with which the young man treated me. I didn’t take it personally, though, because I heard all of the other guests being treated the same way by the other staff at the front desk. After 45 minutes they didn’t even come looking for me even though I was sitting right there. I finally had to wait on line again at the desk after a full hour for them to tell me the room was ready. No apology, no smile. Just handed me my room card and sent me on my way. Same attitude upon checkout, except this time they charged me through the nose for a couple local calls that I made. I bought a prepaid sim card at the airport that wasn’t working so I had to call their service line from the hotel room phone. I assumed it was toll-free, but apparently it wasn’t. For two local calls under 5 minutes, they charged me 117 RM! That’s almost 28 USD!!!!! Absolutely outrageous for Malaysia! When hotels nickel and dime their guests like this, no one wins. At that point, I didn’t want to complain any further because of the way they were speaking to me. I’m sure I’m about to get a nasty response to this review. It really is a shame, though, because it is a good hotel and really could be a great hotel if the people were nicer.
"Perfect for a stay in Bukit Bintang"
I recently spent 7 nights here with my mum who is in her 80's. We were so glad we chose to upgrade to a club room and utilise the service of the club lounge. It became a home away from home for my mum and suited her needs perfectly. The staff were very helpful and friendly and Lily in particular made us feel right at home. She offered fantastic hospitality and was a credit to the hotel. The location was so close to Pavilion Shopping Centre and walking distance to many other local shopping centres. This is my second stay in the hotel and I would be very happy to return again. Excellent value for money.
