"Great stay, just a bit off the beaten path"
Room and hotel was beautiful. The reservations to eat in one of the restaurants was a little confusing- clearly empty seats at the buffet but said they were full. After a trip to the front desk they fit us in two hours later. Very helpful staff overall. Only downside is that the hotel is located outside of Kyoto so you have to walk to the train station and travel in for sights and food.
"Unique hotel with easy access to conference center"
This hotel is showing its age, but its lovely architecture still shines. The hotel is circular, with large windows and lovely views from each room. The surrounding grounds include a park the central courtyard is a lovely garden space. The ICC is a short walk across the street and this was a great hotel for access to the Kyoto Prize ceremonies. The hotel breakfast was fabulous and included in the room price. There was a large array of Japanese and western dishes, many different juices, coffee and tea. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. We also had a desk, seating area and a vey nice bathroom and changing area. The room has a small refrigerator and tea maker with ample supply of green tea! The staff has strong English skills and were incredibly attentive and helpful. There is not a lot of other things in walking distance, but a few shops and cafes are within a 10 minute walk. The subway station is over at the ICC and will take you right into downtown to visit everything else in Kyoto. A lovely serene location with beautiful service!
"everything you need"
this hotel is on a 10 acre complex, beautiful gardens and a superb cigar bar,top quality service. Also lots of american style restaurants outside the hotel, but the food is not that great. My husband and i spent hours exploring ,and enjoyed ourselves within the gates of the hotel.Rooms were big and very clean.breakfast was extensive and satisfying.wow!!!!
"Outside the center of town, next to ICC"
We stayed at this hotel because it was across from the ICC which made it convenient to attend a conference there. The hotel staff were first rate, always helpful and spoke English very well. They arranged for us to get group transportation to Osaka international airport at a reasonable price for example. The hotel itself needs updating - some of the furnishings are dated or very well worn. However everything was clean and comfortable. I would say the location was best feature due to the ICC and the fact that the subway stop to get into Kyoto is only a few steps away.
"Best hotel for ICC attendees "
The hotel is very nice. The rooms are spacious (relative to Japanese hotels) and convenient. The team is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffets are rich and tasty. We enjoyed dinner at the Hotel's Japanese restaurant and it was one of the best during our whole stay in Japan. The hotel is quite far from the city centre but there is a subway station in a walking distance
