"Our Favourite resort...just came back from our 3rd visit"
My husband and I just came back from 10 amazing days at The Great Parnassus. Nov 20-30/16. Firstly, I need to give huge Thank you to Elpidio Peño Manager of the resort. Elpidio went above and beyond his job, he treated us with VIP service. Many managers throughout our vacation made it very clear to us that if we needed anything just to ask. One evening at dinner we were presented with 2 bottles of wine that were personalized with our photo on it for the label, it was unbelievable. The following staff made our vacation so much fun... Josue in the French, he is so professional and made our Anniversary extra special. Absolan and Erikk were top knotch in the Japanese. Emiliano is the sweetest guy in Portofino. Please seek out Felipe, Wilberto and Afrain in the Magnus. Julian, Matilde, Sergio, Eulogio were fantastic bartenders. Pablo always remembers us each year in the front lobby. Almost forgot about okey dokey karaoke Pepe at the beach. Get to know the staff and you will have a super vacation! Many great improvements from last year, more volleyball, maintenance on the building, better temperature in the eating areas and rooms to name a few. For those who complain about everything,I would say relax!!!!!! Enjoy the weather and stop worrying about wifi etc. We can't wait to go back next November! Lori and Graham Perry
- The Kids Club is very nice. They have space for 2 years old (without parent) and up! they have their own swimming pool! a lot of activities! it opens from 9:00am to 8:50pm! - The girls who are in charge of the Kids Club are super nice, specially Marissu, Angie and Susana and all the others who were working from 11/23/2016 to 11/27/2016. - The Karaoke is so fun! The only not very nice DJ is a girl named Jamily. But the other DJ I believe his name is Rogelio, he is new but he is sooooo fun! - The waitresses are nice. - Food, drinks and snacks are every where! - Every night there is a show from 9:00pm to 10:00pm, then you go to the Karaoke. Soooo fun!
"THIS RESORT HELD ME FOR RANSOM.......MUST READ BEFORE BOOKING!!!!!!!"
After my stay at this hotel I tried to check out and they would not allow me to check out. They said my hotel bill had not been paid by my travel agency and that I had to pay it if they are going to let me leave the resort. I replied sarcastically and said "so, your going to kidnap me'" and the manager replied with a simple "yes". at this point i was terrified, so i had them dial my travel agency in order to get things sorted out (which i had to pay $10/minute for). My travel agent assured me it was paid and even sent proof to the hotel and myself. They still refused to let me leave, the manager stated "I cant verify it because accounting is closed". Mind you it is around 2:00PM on a Monday, this seemed odd to me. I explained to him that this is a problem to work out with the travel agency my ride for the airport will be here any minute. As soon as my ride showed up I tried to obtain my luggage from the bellboy and he said he was instructed to hold them until the manager said it was ok. They also proceeded to tell my ride service that the guards at the gate have been instructed to not let me leave the resort so if he tries to take me he will also be held there. after arguing with them for a while i decided to just pay whatever they are charging me and deal with it later. After I paid the manager was no where to be found, therefore the bellboy would not give my bags. By the time it all got worked out , my ride service that I paid for in advance had left, I had to pay for a taxi, and i missed my flight, which i had to end up paying for another one. This all took place on November 7, 2016 and I still have not received a refund. I was informed today that even though the resort confirmed they received the original payment from the travel agency they are still refusing to issue a refund. To top it all off they charged me for an additional day since i missed the checkout deadline while trying to sort this all out. Luckily for me my travel agency has agreed to refund me what i paid the hotel and any additional expenses themselves while they work it out with the resort. The resort itself was average, and the food was no good, even if it was a great resort it is not worth the trouble or the embarrassment we went through. Not to mention we were terrified the whole time during this ordeal. Please stay away from this place, I have also reached out to news outlets to warn people about this. If anyone else has had a similar experience here please post it.

Great restaurant to eat great stuff the captain was great and the rest of the employees great food I even took a picture of the captain this is him this is an all inclusive resort it's not the Best but if you want to have some fun at a good price I will definitely recommend this one
"Great stay at Great Parnassus"
I stayed at the Great Parnassus for 7 days between 11/19/16-11/26/16. All and all it was a great vacation, the best part is the gorgeous view and access to the beach. The views look like a postcard. Make sure you get a higher floor room on the odd number side of the building. The restaurants are your best bet for dinner as the buffet can be hit or miss but you can figure out what you like. The best restaurant is Samaurai, the Japanese restaurant. Make sure you ask for Absalon, he will make your dining experience truly 5 star. He is attentive, friendly, knowledgable and really takes care of you. We went to see him and the food 3 nights in a row and were never disappointed. We went as a couple eventhough the hotel is really geared towards families with small children. The kids congregate to the swim up bar because it is the most shallow pool but there is an adult only pool if you truly want to relax. The service is absolutely excellent, everyone is friendly and always willing to do whatever to make your stay better. Especially Wilberto, in the Magnus buffet who had my table and orange juice ready every morning when he saw me. I would stay away from the pizza, hamburgers, and chicken wings as these were the main snack items that they provided on a daily basis and wasn't up to par with the other food choices. It's understandable as this is the most available and consumed food throughout the day and a lot of people waste it. Hotel does should a little wear but a lot of the hotels naturally do near the ocean, nothing terrible and everything is clean and there are plenty of options. Would definitely recommend for families with smaller children but you can also have a great time as a couple and you can't beat the value. Also, I don't remember his name but there was an entertainment director who ran water games, bingo, and dancing at the pool area who was really good and created a great atmosphere around the pool area.
