"good hotel but far away"
this is a very good hotel with all that you need for rest, food, and enjoy. but if you want to go to Shanghai to buy things, to visit the popular places and meet culture, its not aproppied. the subway is two bloks far from there and you can easily go to the place you want, but as a tourist time is an important asset and you could save money and time staying in a closer hotel even the guide of my tour said, i dont know why did they sent you to this hotel, its so far away. but, anyway, its a very fair hotel,
"Could have been a contender"
Spent 3 nights as part of a 2 week Gate1 tour. The property is attractive and well laid out, appearing at first to be an upscale venue. Unfortunately it doesn't measure up to appearances. Aside from the wonderful breakfast service, most other features of the hotel fall far short of expectations. The bar on the main level was undermanned, with no bartender in sight for long stretches of time. The restaurants appeared to run similarly, with the matre d acting as waiter, server and bus boy. The front desk lacked even one English speaking agent at times, in spite of the hotel hosting several Western tour groups. The rooms, while clean and appearing spaceous, had closets akin to a cruise ship. It would appear that with proper management this could be a great hotel for a great price. Unfortunately there are too many shortcomings to warrant a repeat visit.
"A luxury hotel but some disappointing staff"
Far from city but close to hongqiao terminal, decided to Stay for one night because of its proximity to business partner office at hongqiao, taxi drivers didn't know its address, moreover its name in chinese could be misunderstood as guofeng something confused with taxi drivers and they won't find it easily, just say close to changfeng park and they say guofeng not guoman again! though we booked two single bed room, they gave only one complementary breakfast at first, but upgraded to two for free thanks to morning staff, breakfast was great, we liked it specially melon juice! there is construction going on nearby with noise even though we were at 14th floor noise could be heared, staff at reception need to be more trained, they don't care about guests, they just want to do their job, i don't want to write here what i saw from three of them its long story just their behaviors are not deserved to such hotel, maybe it raised from misunderstanding in english, but not sure since we checked-in late and were tired but no one though watching us even offered to help carry bags this is really not good, concierge was awful, we called for taxi and waited for 15~20 minutes much long time, and also wanted to book for flight and buying sim card, both they had no idea where to go, just to check through internet. i lost my jacket on room (not sure but so far i think) and there was no lost and fund in this hotel to help find it for me. employees at china bank at opposite side of street were very helpful people, but staff at reception told me it takes more than one hour to exchange money there! i like hotel but some staff need some direction. I hope that it could be better in future to come again with better service and respect.
"Short visit to Shanghai"
I stayed at this hotel for two nights while I was in Shanghai for a Conference. Was pleasantly surprised by the contemporary decor of the room with a spacious layout of the furnishings. I had to fiddle with the auto switches for the curtains and lights for a while before figuring out the system. Huge tv screen with gd variety of english based channels for viewing pleasure and the attached bathroom was simply great to just hang out in. An indoor pool is also available in the hotel should one crave for a long swim. A must go for pampering yourself even if it meant just a few days stay!
"Excellent place to stay, with a great value for money "
This hotel is an excellent value for money proposal. My Shanghai office is across the road from this hotel. Lot of eating places near to this place in the shopping mall. Metro line is about 1km distance. I used to walk and get in to the metro. Nice restaurant and bar too Full marks from a business traveler :-)
