"New Year Break"
Stayed at the H10 Las Palmeras over New Year, Overall the hotel was very good, the staff were friendly and the facilities pretty good, However, and I noticed this in other reviews of the same hotel, my room (181) was very noisy, both from outside and noises in the hotel itself, I noticed that a lot of the other rooms are directly above the Gaelic Corner, which comprises a really big pub and a nightclub, these must have been very noisy late into the night. The A/C in the public rooms, particularly the main restaurant on an evening, couldn't really cope, and this was Dec/ Jan, it must really struggle in hight season. Talking of the restaurant, the food wasn't bad and plenty of choice, but the waiting staff really struggled at busy times, and you had to be careful you didn't sit in a "black hole" and became invisible. No problems with sun beds, but be warned the big pool isn't heated, which means that the smaller pools can get a bit crowded, particularly during organised activity times. But of course, if like me, you went swimming at Whitby as a child, then an unheated pool is nothing compared to the North Sea, even in summer !!
"Great hotel, lovely winter break"
Staff excellent, friendly and helpful. Food very good and great variety. Well located hotel. Would request sea view next time. Balcony door needed updating. Had a really lovely holiday, well located for shops and beach, La troya beach easily accessed. Walk for miles along the seafront. Very enjoyable musical entertainment in the bar area at night. Shows on downstairs as well. Even though we did not take part in the activities during the day there appeared to be plenty of activities availabe. Gym was small but all machines worked and it was clean. Tennis courts available but we thought the 50 euro deposit was excessive though but it was only a deposit! .

"Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed In "
Booked this hotel through Thomas Cook, Booked a double room with sea view, in a 4 star hotel, 4 star ,, yeah right o, nothing more than a 2 star.. We were given a standard twin sea view room with single beds that were as hard as Bricks.. staff in the pool bar were rude and ignorant, On complaining to management we were called liars, requested a move to another hotel but Thomas cook refused, 2 days later we came back to find they had shoved our beds together and changed the single mattresses to a double, however this was worse as there was a huge lump down the middle, (where the beds joined) tried to get an earlier flight home 2 days early but couldn't.. it was a holiday from hell... both of us are still suffering with bad backs 3 days later.. I would AVOID this place like the plague... I paid extra to fly home early on the morning of my departure as that was all I could get... I Ain't joking this place is shoddy, run down and defiantly not a 4star hotel that it's portrayed to be...
