"Ideal for 1 night "
Arived after a horendous journey on the m6 greeted warmly and check in was speedy. Room was ideal for a one night stay although I was bemused by the bathroom door it had been replaced by a glass door and even though I stayed as a couple it felt a little uncomfortable doing your ablutions with a glass door separating you.food and drink is overpriced but I suppose they class it as a airport hotel even though it is miles away would I stay here again' No but if you bring your own food and drink you should be fine.
From the outside it looks lovely, when you step in to the reception and restaurant gorgeous place. However when we went over to the spa area it was apparent that the swimming pool area required a revamp. The steam room and sauna needs to be revamped too. Although the staff were really nice and ensured our spa day experience was good:) cant comment on the rooms because we didnt stop the night there as it was too expensive. Think the pool area needed a good clean
"Great place to stay if flying"
Stayed here before a trip to Italy and the restaurant was great, really nice food. Bar was very modern and good selection of drinks. It's only about 3 miles from Manchester airport which makes it an ideal location for travellers. We stayed on a ground floor room. The only issue i had was that there was a function/ party on across from our room so noise was a slight issue, also we were near an air conditioning unit or something similar which kicked up a bit of noise but nothing too bad. Another negative about the ground floor room was that in the morning there were builders outside the room who were looking in the room which made you feel a little uncomfortable. Ideally the hotel should have frosted glass on the ground floor rooms to save you from having to close the curtains. I have moaned but i'm staying here again in November as they do a really good park and ride service for the airport. Leave your car and get a taxi to and from the airport within the price of the room.
Stayed overnight after returning from holiday. Had booked previously Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast package. Check in went ok, pleasant receptionist. Opened doors to go to rooms and soon hits you that this hotel is all front! Like going into a 60's time warp. Sticky carpets. Entered room and sighed. windows running with condensation, no double glazing, whole room seemed grubby. Not a place to take your lover for a passionate night! But we were there so had to make the best of it! Down to dinner, another let down. Had a drink in the bar area, again grubby. Tables with glass covers, tops wiped over but food crumbs and detritus underneath. Into the time warp 60's diner, ordered chicken and chips and a sirloin and chips for myself. Waited one hour for food to arrive. Ordered drinks from waitress, nothing arrived, went to the bar myself. Food finally arrived, chicken under cooked and raw in places. Steak, a bit of old rump, stringy an fatty, basically inedible. Suspect because we were not cash payers so got what they could get away with' To tired and peed of by then to complain. Old adage is you get what you pay for, and boy you don't get much here. Avoid.
"Cash Cow for use by unwary Tour Operator clients"
Rough isn't the word. It was something out of a 50's horror movie set. There was no air-conditioning and we were allocated a room on the main entrance side of the Hotel. Because people and taxis/cars are coming and going all through the night we had little sleep. The windows had to stay open to let a little air into the furnace like heat, in the room. Swinging the proverbial cat would have removed its front legs as well as its head. The lift, a tiny effort, accommodating 2 people and 2 suitcases, had a door problem. The bottom of the door scraped along the floor and screeched as I pulled it open. Asking another guest to push it shut for me just brought a little smile from the receptionist, 2 metres away. Thank heavens we didn't require food! Archers Tours placed us in this pit for £29 but according to the invoice they were charged £150. Our car stayed in a puddle, the only spaces left, in the long stay car park, round the back. The fence looked too insecure to give me confidence my car would be undamaged on my return. I can see why the Hotel was allocated just before our departure date now. The Staff were friendly though. This got us off on a hellish holiday which will be another feature on tripadvisor.
