"Great 5 star hotel in a good location."
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of a 14 night holiday. We had a welcome gift from our tour operators (premier holidays) waiting at reception. We were given a welcome drink and asked if we wanted to upgrade. The cost was around £50 per night which included breakfast but due to a bit of a miscalculation on our part we thought it to be more expensive and as it was the beginning of the holiday we were a bit reluctant to overspend as soon as we arrived. We requested high floor through our tour operator and were allocated a room on the tenth floor. The room was really nice with fabulous views of Hong Kong harbour. The hotel adjoins a shopping centre with a mixture of some shops restaurants and nurseries for children. We found a really good coffee and breakfast place here. There was a rooftop pool on the 8th floor which also has a small gym. We did not eat in the hotel except for cake and tea in the lobby as it was quite expensive. The beds were great and the staff were pleasant and efficient. There was a free shuttle to the harbour or the town which we used quite a lot. All in all this was a good quality hotel and we enjoyed our stay in Hong Kong tremedously
"Club Lounge "
Always offer great service quality, very friendly and well taken care. Nice view and very comfortable! Nice food bar and choices of drinks. Clean and convenient as one stop service. Booking in advance is recommended.
"Breakfast and Drinks outrageously overpriced"
Stayed at the Harbour Plaza for 6 nights. Was really happy with the size of the room as I had expected them to be small. Free shuttle bus every 20 minutes into town and back (only a 15 minute walk) My only complaint was that we couldn't book our stay with breakfast included. You could pay extra upon arrival but it was about $40 AUD EACH to have breakfast. Also found the prices of drinks (beer and wine) outrageously over priced.
"Poor service and low value for money"
Most advertising of the hotel is related to the harbour and view. As a matter of fact, what is called harbour view is view over highway and somehow behind is the harbour. Another option is a view on a parking lot. The rooms are very small and even the suites are composed of a very small room and a small and tasteless salon. Cleanness OK but not more and quite poor service.
"Arrogance & Unwillingness to Relent."
I arrived at the hotel at approx 7PM on the 18th October 2106 Upon arrival with my three fellow travelers I was informed that although I had confirmed my cancellation prior to my arrival (I accidentally booked three rooms instead of 1 room for three people) they were totally unwilling to accept ANY cancellation as it was "hotel policy" Although I corrected my mistake within 10 minutes of booking the reservation (from Booking.com) online and subsequently canceled the two extra rooms, the hotel Guest Service Manager Mr Wong was completely unwilling to accept any cancellation as it was hotel policy. He stated that the cancellation policy was that of Booking.com and stated that was their terms. I told Mr. wong that I called Bookings.com to report the mistake that had occurred and they informed me that it was at the hotels discretion to cancel the reservation not that of booking.com - Which is inaccurate as I found out. I am a seasoned traveler, so the attitude and arrogance that I was confronted with upon check in was quite astonishing. I was even willing to accept two rooms as part of a compromise for my mistake, again no relenting. He refused to give any solution to the obvious mistake of which were notated. Although he confirmed verbally to the points I had actually written down, he refused to sign off on them with a signature. His only solution to the mistake was that, and I quote, " I do not need to give any reason why the hotel is unwilling to relent on their decision." This is completely unacceptable on all levels and I wish all travelers to be aware of this hotel and their obvious lack of compassion and empathy even though I was willing to accept a penalty. POOR SHOW - Harbour Plaza Metropolis and the extremely arrogant Guest Service Manager. Totally unacceptable on all levels.
