"Location a Constraint"
We were upset about the location of the Hotel. It was removed from the main part of the Mong Kok area. The only salvation was the Shuttle Bus which traveled to the city area on a regular basis. The Patio Bar area was a plus to be able to see the Light show across the Harbour. The rooms were small and tidy. We will choose a better located Hotel next time we visit Hong Kong
I've been staying at the Metropolis twice a year for 5 or 6 years now and have always found it consistently good and a perfect base when travelling on business. The hotel itself is rather large, a grand marble entrance conveys that as soon as you enter however if you book a room on the club floor you get access to the harbour lounge which is a very cosy, quiet place to enjoy breakfast, free cocktails (6-8pm) and snacks. The lounge itself overlooks the harbour and has fantastic views of HK island. Candy runs the team up there and she's incredibly personable and does a great job of looking after all her guests and makes time to ensure you're enjoying your stay. Location is excellent just a short stroll from Tsim Sha Tsui and many many bars, restaurants and sights. It's also situated next to Hung Hom station for the MTR and also trains into China. Overall a great place to stay and will definitely be back.
"Best in Kowloon for Indians"
Glad i picked this hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor... My preference was to pick one which has a good spread of healthy Indian breakfast and have indian restaurants around... The breakfast spread was brilliant as mentioned in reviews offering pan-Asian, continental and European cuisines. The hotel constructed in a way that it has an access to adjacent shopping center which has one popular Indian restaurant. Rooms are matchbox sized, which I think is quite common in Hong Kong.
Excellent hotel!!! A very grand lobby as you enter. Very busy hotel. Location is perfect everything is very close. There is a mall connected to the hotel where you have seven eleven store n other similar stores. Then there are many restaurants we found one Indian which was great. Hotel has a shuttle service to Tsim Sha Tsui and back every 10 mins free of cost thAt is soo cool. There is a metro(MTR) station connected to it. What else do you need. Food is expensive so would say try out some where if you are on a budget. Rest one of the best hotel I have stayed. Again Perfect!!!
"Great hotel but no free wifi"
We stayed here for 1 month and it was a great experience. The hotel was nice. We booked a 1 bedroom suite with harbourview, and it's spacious. (Over 700 sq feet) Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is great, convenient to everywhere. It's very close to Tsim Sha Tsui, subway is just across the bridge (1 minute walk), 10 minutes bus ride to Causeway Bay on the Hong Kong Island side. Free shuttle bus every 20 mintues to Tsim Sha Tsui. The only thing that disappointed me was that they don't offer free wifi. I'm quite surprise when I was told that when booking, as I had checked about 20 (or more)hotels in HK and all of them offer free wifi. I ended up paying $5xx HKD for the month for that. If you register online as the HP club member(which I did), you can get free wifi, but only if you book your room online. I booked mine through email so did not get it.
