Comment of V. Eva , Spain the 2016-02-22
"Excellent days night"
Booked a Sunday stay with dinner and breakfast and from when they answered the phone when booking to checking out the experience and service was outstanding When we arrived we were told we had been given a complimentary upgrade to the John Lennon suite! Wow amazing suite with a huge balcony all round ,white piano and amazing artwork and amenities Great food in the lounge bar and breakfast in Blakes restaurant the following morning Excellent place to stay if you're a Beatles fan or not Massive thanks to all the staff
"Fab4 us ! "
Stayed here for one night for my girlfriend's birthday. The Beatles hold special memories for her for particular reasons so it was important it was top notch for her! On arrival we were greeted by kind approachable staff. We stayed in a George Harrison deluxe double room and it was fantastic, everything we would have expected. However I did ask for a special request of a birthday card to be placed in the room, which wasn't in the room on our arrival and for me I was slightly disappointed BUT when spoken to reception (Jack I think) he corrected it straight away as we was out for a couple of hour in the evening and also as an apology he put a little pamper kit inside the room as well. Had a comfy night sleep although as we are from a quiet part of Cumbria we can usually sleep with the window open without disturbance. So it was a bit of a shock when the bin lorry came to collect the glass bottles at 6:30am! The peace was resumed when my girlfriend shut the window so wasn't all bad! Breakfast was included for us and we found it pleasant. Our only criticism would be as it was a buffet style, some of the cooked breakfast wasn't pipping hot. We also had to ask for toast to be made out the back as there wasn't toast making facility. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the Beatles themed decor, to the Beatles music throughout the hotel to the Beatles themed cocktails in the bar!
"Beware booking through an online agent!"
We were attending a wedding so booked the hotel a month before. We chose the hotel for its close proximity to the wedding and reception, as we were travelling by train from London. My husband had previously used the hotel for a work 'do' taking 10 rooms. On the strength of that we emailed the hotel 3 weeks before our due day requesting an early check in. We were told it shouldn't be a problem but they couldn't promise one (nice). I called the hotel the night before our arrival and was told they had our booking, no problems. During our journey up on the train I called them again with the intention of telling them our eta and again requesting an early check in (as I'd been advised to do) only to be told 'OH, SORRY YOUR BOOKING HAS BEEN CANCELLED, SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!!!' To cut a long story short, and after speaking with the agent, it would appear they'd overbooked the hotel and as we'd used an agent we were bumped. After asking to speak with the Manager (duty manager - Bernadette), and standing our ground they managed to find us a room (presumably some other poor soul was bumped instead). TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Our room was perfectly average and quite dark. The hotel bar was shabby and lacking any kind of atmosphere. Girls behind the desk were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average, they'd run out of eggs, but the staff were friendly again. Will never book again and will think twice about booking any hotel via a third party so all you agents out there beware this hotel! Having read other reviews I notice the management don't bother to reply to their reviews. They obviously rely on tourist trade! But tourist often use agents, SO BEWARE!
Stayed here for one night as Hubby is a Beatles fan, great room, very comfy bed (which was nice as I find all hotel beds far too hard) squishy pillows, balcony, good lighting, clean bathroom. Our room was on the front of the hotel which is better than rooms overlooking Mathew street on the side due to noise, reception staff friendly, lots of photos of Beatles around. The only down side was the restaurant Blakes which was very average, we would stay here again but skip the restaurant. Nice and central for visiting Albert Dock and next door to Cavern.
"Great Beatlemania hotel"
NOTE: This review is based on the hotel's 2-day Beatles Tour Package deal. The rating is based on the hotel, the perceived value of the package deal, and the services provided by the hotel staff. This hotel, and the package deal they offer is highly recommended for Beatles fans looking to immerse themselves in all the "Beatlemania" this city has to offer. The hotel is all Beatles all the time and offers a very good 2-day package including breakfast and 3 tours and Cavern Club entry tickets. The concierge team is very helpful in assisting you with scheduling the tours that are included in your reservation package: The Beatles Story Museum, The Magical Mystery Tour Bus and the Private Cab Tour - The Cavern Pass is a do-it yourself, and it's right around the corner. Trip tip: I would recommend using your one full day as follows: 10:00AM Museum, 1:00PM Bus Tour, then leave the rest of the afternoon and evening for walking the closed street area and visiting the Cavern. The following morning can then be used to schedule the Private Cab Tour. Note: the cab tour driver can drop you off at the train station if you're heading out of town. The hotel itself is better than I expected. A large room with an equally large bath (although the hotel did give us a free upgrade, so other rooms may not be as big). The room was very comfortable and had ample storage. The lobby and stairway (surrounding the lifts) gave the place a 5 star look. There is a full restaurant and two bars on the main level with an additional night spot one level down. There is some street noise as the city comes to life around 6:00AM or so. We could hear it from our front street room, but otherwise a good night's sleep. If you sign-up for the 2-day package, don't forget your complimentary Beatles inspired signature cocktail in the Bar Four bar and lounge.
