Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel at 230 N Michigan Ave in Chicago from February 22 thru February 26. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: Great central location close to lots of restaurants and activities Awesome, friendly staff CONS: My room faced a large building so no sun light ever got in and the place felt cave like; even with all the lights on it was dark Worst tasting room service food ever The furniture was dented, cracked and unclean Overall I gave a three rating due to the staffs friendliness / helpfulness and the location
"Most comfortable beds and the best pillows ever. I want them."
I had a 4 day business trip and we stayed at the Hard Rock on property at Universal in Orlando or as I called it the Hotel California. They had the most comfortable beds and the best pillows ever. I don't think I've slept better. I want those pillows for home. Every morning we would have breakfast outside The Kitchen by the pool and the surroundings were excellent. The weather was perfect and we wanted to spend most of the morning just sitting there enjoying our self's. The wait staff were great. Every morning they would take us in a free limo to the Royal Convention Hotel to catch the convention bus. We were treated like rock stars. Next time I want to get one of their premium packages. Treat your self to a most enjoyable experience and book the Hotel California Hard Rock Hotel when staying in Orlando.
"Won't be back"
Rooms described are not what you get. Nothing special about this hotel. Noisy and uncomfortable. Couldn't get a good night sleep. Valet was a let down and after waiting for our car for 45 minutes (only people waiting for our car) we were late for our reservations.
One of our family members lives in Chicago and picked this place for all of us. What a great choice! It's a very casual place and close to the theater where Hamilton was playing. It was also convenient to the Magnificent Mile, restaurants and other activities. The front desk was very courteous, efficient and pleasant as were the concierge staff. The rooms were very spacious with modern decor. We'll certainly go back.
"You're paying for the name and location"
I had a nightmare trying to get an extra bed in the room - I was given $25 off my bill, but the person that it was for was quite upset as they wanted a good sleep after a long flight There are big queues for the lifts at times The hotel feels small There was a poor selection of in-room dining The WiFi was fairly poor, although it was complimentary as is standard at most Chicago hotels now The rooms seemed quite bland in terms of design - I was expecting more The room we had was quite dark and could have done with extra lights Chuck's bar had great food and drinks (attached to the hotel) I recommend looking at other downtown hotels
