"Nice hotel near the city center"
I was at Helka hotel in the summer of 2016. Very nice comfortable hote. The room and the bath were totally fine for one person and the stuff was friendly as everybody would expect. Breakfirst was okay too not brilliant but enough and tatsty to start the day. I don`t know exactly what this means but it is agay friendly hotel. And we rent bikes for 20 € per day which was cool and recommended as Helsinki is not too big to explore by bike,
"Close to the Finnair coach terminal."
I have stayed at this hotel before, the only thing to have changed being the location ofthe restaurant. When leaving the central station/Finnair coach terminal start by going down the road with Marks and Spencers on your left. Cross the main road and go down the road going diagonally right opposite you. Continue until you cross a "trench" which was once the railway line to the docks. Then turn left and the Helka is on your right just after you have crossed a tram route. All the staff spoke very good English and wer very helpful. My room (532) had every thing I needed. I eat dinner in the restaurant whose menu was a little limited but still all I wanted. The food was good. The selection for breakfast was good but the main room was chaotic, use one of the anexes for a peasefull meal. There is also a lounge down some stairs wher you can take your breakfast. I would use tjhis hotel again.
"Perfect quick trip"
Helka is well located and clean. Reception was always very friendly and warm. Particularly the blonde trainee (Julia'). She was extremely helpful and friendly and speaks better English than me!! The room was big compared to similar hotels in Oslo and Stockholm. Excellent bathroom amd amazing shower. Very nice bathroom products too. Good breakfast.
"Good value in great locatiom"
Stayed 4 nights on business trip with meetings nearby. I had not realized how good the location is with all the public transportation within few minutes walk. The hotel is medium sized in an old building which makes it something between a boutique and a chain hotel. Pricing is very competitive compared to standard Finnish chains and you get a bit more for your money. The hotel is fairly recently renovated and offers decent sized rooms with smallish bathrooms. Internet works great and is included in price. Breakfast is a buffet with lots to choose from with an espresso maker. Local flavours are limited to karelian pastries and rye bread. The restaurant is good quality with a nice menu. Staff is friendly and i was overall happy with my stay. I think I got value for money here and definitely better than at local chains.
"Good little hotel"
We had a great stay at this hotel. We got a little room but no problem - nice beds. Its located in the center - only 5-10 min walk to the city center. Breakfast buffet covered most needs - enjoyed the porridge.
