Amazing experience. Me and my wife have 15 years anniversary, so I mentioned it to Hotel service manager Maxime De Vries, she was so amazing! She arranged a Champaign with stroberies, flowers and a cake. I am traveling a lot due to my work. I stay in different kind of hotels, leas fences and more fences but this is a first time I have such a great experience. I bought a deal from my local distributor and when I wanted to know if I can upgrade a room, local travel agency told me that this is impossible. I sent an email to Hilton Global and get an answer in couple of hours with Amsterdam Hotel contact details. I sent an email to AMS Hilton and service manager Maxime De Vries sent me all the details of upgrade options and prices. The email was very nice. Once I arrived, everything was as expected, I get my upgraded room with all nice stuff I mentioned above. These kind of things that make a difference. Good for you Hilton Amsterdam and good for you Maxime De Vries! Highly recommend!!! Dan Mor
"Good choice to be out of the downtown crush"
Stayed here for two days as part of a Viking pre-cruise package. Initially dissapointed to be out of the old city center but came to appreciate the nice Old Suid neighborhood, which was only a short walk to museums and easy tram or walk downtown anyway. Hotel is nice although mid-century modern decor is maybe dated and could be refreshed. We stayed on Executive Level which has great rooftop lounge with panoramic views. Bar is wonderful too. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Overall a good choice - especially for longer stays.
The hotel is listed as a 5 star hotel something I definitely do not understand, except on the bill. Stayed here a weekend in October 2016 and had a very nice stay. The hotel offers the standard services but nothing out of the ordinary. WiFi provided was a joke, and did not work except in the executive lounge. Was a bit surprised of the actual distance from the hotel to the city center, compared to the advertisement as this was a 20 min tram ride, or €20 taxi ride.
"Very good hotel. Not the best location for tourists!"
I stayed for 3 nights at the Hilton with my wife. The hotel like most Hilton hotels provide very good rooms and great service. We enjoyed our stay at Hilton Amsterdam. I did not give the 5 Stars because of its location for the purpose of my trip: Tourist in Amsterdam! The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood but you need to walk 10 to 15 minutes to reach the museums and another 15 minutes to reach downtown. One particular inconvenience about the location is that there are not many restaurants close by to have dinner. The restaurant at the hotel, Roberto's, is good and a good choice for one night, but the options are limited.
"Dated and pricey for what it is"
Hotel is pretty far out of town which makes it quiet, but I have stayed in 3* with better facilities. Decor is dated and wifi is woeful. That you need to pay for it on 2016 when it is free In Even budget hotels is pretty poor.
