The Hilton Atlanta is located in downtown Atlanta, only 15 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, this hotel is ideally situated within walking distance to many Atlanta city centre attractions.
"Worst Hotel Stay"
Upon entering I the desk, night stand and glass fixtures to be completely full of dust and the bed comforter was stained with black marks. This is a very nice hotel located in the downtown area, but I have never seen a hotel room in this caliber of a hotel look this way. I won't be returning to this hotel, there are just too many other options in the downtown area.
I want to first make clear the service at the front desk was great, no problems. However the valet was horrible and the Southern Elements not impressive at ALL. I understand hotels get busy and all. From what I was told there were three weddings the weekend I was there. Ok so I am sure this was planned well in advance but the staffing was like they found out that morning. You could never get valet to answer so when you went down there it was a mad house and was never less than 25-30 minutes to retrieve your vehicle. When you did call you were told the line was busy, every time'''' This caused delays when you are trying to be proactive. The staff at valet desk were not bothered at all by the amount of frustrated people nor did they acknowledge it. I had one driver apologize. ONE. The service at the restaurant was poor as was the quality of the food. Our waiter didn't know anything you asked him and had to ask him manager everything from can I get a refill on an Italian soda to why was I overcharged. We were charged different prices (more) than menu prices then of course he had to get permission to fix. Just overall not a pleasant Hilton experience. I plan to keep the Honors program but these types of things need to be addressed.
"Going through a needed reno"
This old property is located in downtown Atlanta and it is currently going through a needed renovation. This property seems to be disorganized, regardless of the renovation process. Front desk personnel were not welcoming and did not acknowledge my Honors level status, mention any of the amenities, altered restaurant schedule, executive floor hours, etc. To me, there is no excuse for any of these issues but, then again, I do not know what the employees were dealing with in their daily operation either. The renovations may be causing headaches for them and it is possible management has put undue pressure upon the line staff, and are not offering any support. So, I'm a bit more understanding than normal. Food, purely average and the selection of foods (not talking about Trader Vics and the roof top restaurant) were completely below average. At present, it would not be my expectation to stay at this property again. We shall see. If I were you, and you're reading this review, I would suggest staying at one of the Embassy Suite locations, or Doubletree. When the hotel is complete with renovations, perhaps then it will be worth the money.
Like most Hilton hotels I come across anymore most are desperately in need of upgrades and remodeling. To be fair it was currently in a state of being remodeled but Marriott seems to honestly be the better brand.
"Solid hotel in Atlanta"
Stayed for 7 nights mid October. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to the bathroom being tiny......While perfectly functional the space is very awkward. I'm a tea drinker and had tea bags refreshed daily which was terrific - tea/coffee station in the room was perfect. It's common for this to be neglected. Bed was comfy - 2 queens. Room while hardly expansive was satisfactory.
