Wonderful place ... relaxing and with two seaside exposure in a white sand beach.. Good food in a BBQ night with meat and fish. Very polite people .. I loved also the pools... the rooms and the view of the lighthouse. I suggest to consider this place.
Nice beach. Average food. Good location on the island. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel condition and cleanliness were very good. The beachside bar was good. The views from the rooms were fantastic.
"Very Good Experience"
Facilities are excellent, and staff are very helpful and friendly. Food in hotel is a bit expensive but otherwise satisfactory. Room service was good. It is worth joining Hilton Honours to get free Wi-Fi in your room. A free exercise class in the pool each morning is very good. The beaches have a fair bit of surf and would not be great for small kids, but there are two pools and a kids' pool.
What a great hotel, with fabulous facilities. The beaches and the water are absolutely brilliant, silky soft sand and crystal clear water with rolling waves are absolute heaven. We're staying on the Executive floor with access to a lounge serving breakfast, snacks and drinks, throughout the day. The bedrooms are beautiful and have clearly been recently refurbished. The 'continental' breakfast offering is great with choices of fresh fruit, pastries, lovely breads for toasting, as well as eggs, pancakes, etc. The staff are so friendly and accommodating throughout. Definitely we'll be back to this gem.
"Exceeded all expectations "
The last time we were in Barbados 10 years ago we stayed at the iconic Sandy Lane hotel which is rated as one of the best hotels in the world so booking a stay at the Hilton was going to be an interesting experience compared to our last visit to the island. The reason that we chose the Hilton was simply that it was offered on an incredibly good deal with our Club World flights with British Airways and so really for a short six night break in the sun in January it seemed a logical choice. It may seem churlish to suggest that our expectations were set pretty low given that this is a five star resort however I suppose it's all comparative. I booked a room at the executive level with panoramic views of the ocean. As the Hilton diamond honours member I was hoping that we would be upgraded on arrival at the resort and indeed this happened so we ended up in one of the corner suites - and exceptionally spacious room with two separate balconies on different sides - each one affording different views which was in fact very pleasant. In addition the suite had two separate shower rooms and toilets which again was very convenient. One tip that I think is essential to give anyone visiting the hotel at this stage is that you must book a room on the executive floor. It makes no difference how much more expensive it looks than other rooms but I can assure you that the access to chilled bottles of water, soft drinks, beers, wine and various snacks will more than make up for the difference in cost. Your notes that you will spend on drinks alone if you have to pay for them in the resort could easily be translated into a much nicer room with all the executive club lounge benefits thrown in. The resort itself had absolutely everything that you could wish for. The only difference between the services offered at the Hilton and I was offered at Sandy Lane which seem to be the evening turndown service which was not offered at the Hilton. Obviously the rooms and public areas in Sandy Lane are much more luxurious however this brings me to the main point of my review – the people! In all my years and on all my many troubles I have never come across this hotel with a better complement of staff. Without exception every single member of staff we came across throughout our stay was an absolute pleasure and delight. They went to extraordinary lengths to ensure that we were happy with everything. No matter which department they belong to each and everyone of them seemed to take a pride in the fact that we had chosen their island to visit and he seems to have a responsibility to ensure that our memories of Barbados where the best. Their good humour and their constantly smiling faces really contributed to making every minute of our state total delight. It would seem unfair to mention anyone in particular as every single member of staff was a credit to the Hilton organisation however Rodney the breakfast chef who made my daily breakfast omelette and introduce me to the delights of adding fiery scotch bonnet peppers to it - was an absolute star. At the end of the stay Rodney told me that what made him happy is knowing that he had contributed to us leaving the island of Barbados with good memories and a positive feeling. This stay at the Hilton actually surprised me more than any other hotel stay ever. Having arrived with not the highest of expectations I would have to say that even if we had the highest expectations these would have been exceeded several times over. Ironically if I did return to Barbados I would choose the Hilton before Sandy Lane and that is a huge statement to make. Like all hotels mistakes can be made and in the interest of balance I will mention the only negative thing I could think of. On our final evening we had booked a table at The Cliff restaurant - One of the best restaurants in the world and one which we had dined at on our previous visit so we were very much looking forward to it. We noticed on the same evening that the Hilton were running their beach barbecue and such were our feelings of positivity towards the hotel and given that I am a huge fan of barbecue that we decided to cancel our booking at The Cliff. Sadly there was a problem with the gas that was used to run the barbecues that evening and we had to make do with food that was prepared in the kitchens. I was bitterly disappointed but of course realise that it was not anyone's fault and just a bit of bad luck however I thought the very least they could do was refund the money we paid as we didn't get any barbecue. Given that we had such a great time at the hotel I am willing to over look this and only mention it to give my glowing review a bit of balance. I could write so much more about this lovely property and it's incredible staff but I'm sure from what you have read already you will realise that I heartily recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone and would give it six stars if I could.
