"Awesome experience in Barbados"
My family and I just got back from an 8 night stay at the Hilton Barbados. The location is perfect. You can experience the waves on the south coast or the tranquility of Carlisle Bay on the West Coast. We took advantage of the on site diving and snorkeling with Barbados Blue which were great experiences. Staff is remarkably friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this property.
"Anniversary at the Hilton Barbados"
Went on our honeymoon at the Hilton and decided to return many years later. Great beach and location. Staff was very accommodating. We reserved a room on the executive floor and it was worth it. Will definitely return.
"Great location; nice beach"
Enjoyed a family stay here for four nights. Club level breakfast is very good; the evening options were limited. Exceptional views from both towers, but recommend Lighthouse Tower. Highly recommend King rooms on west side of Lighthouse Tower for beautiful vistas, including sunsets. Special shout-out to Krystal in Cuppa Café - stop by and ask for left-handed ice-cream!
It is the best place to go in barbados. There you will find all the beach amenities plus an amazing resort area, with 3 beautiful pools. Its very high level and private, also you will find acqua sports to play. They have day pass: usd 55 including a meal and a drink.
"Fantastic! No complaints!!"
Got: 7th floor Executive Suite, king size bed. Room was large, bed perfect, view of ocean great (above the cement railing) and having the patio doors open at night allowed us to hear the wonderful oceans waves all night. (Turned off the AC - did not need it at night). Sound proofing was very good: we had party animals next door one night to really test it - the walls must be concrete. It was the only party room in the building, and was not annoying until they came home from the club. Was very sound proofed, considering, but we called to complain and the front desk sent someone immediately, Thanks Hilton!! Plus with the ocean waves, I doubt you will hear anything.... Airport Fast Track: Inquire about paying for the "Meet and Greet" fast track through customs at the airport. On Saturday there are so many planes, and we literally stood in line for 1 hour, but others said 1.5 hours. But if someone from Hilton comes to pick you up; they have a rep come with a sign as you enter customs, and then you get fast tracked! Wish we knew about this. Have no idea what the cost is. But after a long flight, we would have paid on the spot for that! Executive Lounge: great value; for the price of breakfast you get not only breakfast but an appetizers spread at dinner. Breakfast: either scrambled or boiled eggs, yogurt, fish or meat, cheese, pancakes or French toast, cereals, breads of all sorts, fruit, jam and butter. Dinner snack; cut vegetables, crackers, cheese. If you arrive at 5, some dessert. Then they come around and offer a hot daily appetizer. Both services provide a wide variety of beverages. Excellent value. Computer with printer available (no scanning). Daily news. Lots of place to sit. Great view of Carlisle Bay. Remember to tip these hard working ladies! We typically ate breakfast there, then had a "fancy late lunch" somewhere, and then nibbled on lounge appetizers for our "dinner". Saved a ton of cash that way, and we were not hungry from the heat, and being so inactive. Pools: not heated, but not cold in March when we were there. Hot tub was not hot, only a wee bit warmer than the pool. Was broken the last 2 days. Seems to be a very common problem everywhere we go! If you like to do laps, the upper deck pool is the best! Beachfront: Loungers are plenty! And comfortable! Umbrellas available for shade! No need to panic about getting one - no need to reserve, plenty more at the pool decks as well. Nice constant ocean waves and breeze in a perfect beach alcove setting. Bring or buy a boogie board, perfect waves for that, every day. (Or try beginners surfing down the road at St Lawrence Gap, at Barry's Surf school (also rents boogie boards). A couple of beach vendors at the Hilton, but not annoying. They responded well to a polite decline. Lost our sunglasses in the waves. Another guy did too. Remove before playing out there. No under currant to be worried about. Just good old fashioned breaking the waves with your body type of fun. Cuppa Cafe: onsite coffee shop had incredible cookies and pastries!!! Parking...plentiful....can get it valet parked or do self park. Food...only ate at the excecutive lounge or at the coffee shop. Had wonderful fish cutters at Cuzz's shack, walking distance on the road, by the public beach next to Radisson. Daytime operation, no weekends. So cheap, so delicious with a beer. Went 3 times. Horses bathing... you will need to be at the beach by 6 a.m to see this beautiful spectacle. They are gone by 7 a.m. The horses from The Garrison racetrack get bathed and swim every morning on the beach by The Radisson. You can also see this happen from the executive lounge, but bring binoculars if you really want to see it well. Location...perfect middle island location for exploring, and we covered the entire island. Driving...do not worry, you can do this. Safe, and not aggressive. Rent a car, explore on your own. The accurate free country map looks like a spider web, but you get the hang of it very fast... count roundabouts, stay on main roads. The attractions have signs on posts directing you. The countryside is very charming. Feels very safe over all of Barbados. Locals are super friendly, especially in the rural areas. We attended a free community party in Speightstown, what a lovely community of people, no thugs. Very welcoming. Particularly loved the north...go to Animal Flower Cave for free great views, east to stunning Bathsheba, and south to Bottom Bay, the most idyllic beach imaginable. It is a great safe adventure. We rented from Stoutes and have no complaints...fast pickup and no haggling then or on the return.
