Fantastic and excellent hotel. A very good extensive breakfast with large choice. A bit further away from the Centre and the City famous beaches but many better shopping malls in Barra de Tijuca and large white sandy more silent Brazilian populated beaches.Comment of W. "Why isn't this the #1 hotel''"
Having stayed at a few different hotels in Rio, this was my favorite. It's clean, modern, has good service, and amenities I've never seen in other luxury hotels. The room I stayed in was awesome! And the welcome gift was one of the best I've ever received from a hotel. Great view of the Olympic Park, great view of the sunset (where I took a cool time lapse), and overall very clean and modern room. I called this my home for 1.5 months on a business trip and never got tired of it. The only thing to watch out for is mosquitoes that may hitchhike on your clothes when you're entering your room. Nobody likes a mosquito buzzing around your head at night. I was fortunate to be able to visit the lounge most days after work, where Bakel and other lounge staff members took care of me by offering different delicious treats and drinks everyday. And these delicious treats and drinks are outstanding from the presentation to the quality. If you're looking to try a top-shelf Caipirinha (because most of them are honestly not very good), this is your spot--which will blow your mind. It's usually a quiet place to be able to relax and maybe finish up some work for the day while grabbing a snack. There's a nice view of the Olympic Park, where I've seen one of the best sunsets in my life. Bakel also printed common words and phrases in Portuguese that came in handy and made me feel right at home. She also explained that you're a Carioca if you have a favorite soccer and samba team (and who are the favorites). So be prepared! The Concierge desk was extremely helpful. I was lucky and the Paralympic games were ongoing during my stay. Not knowing how to buy tickets to the games, Clayson graciously helped me purchase a Paralympic games ticket online and gave me some invaluable tips (do's and do nots) about buying tickets from people outside of the Olympic Park. I also can't forget about the breakfast! There's a juicer there, where I've never seen one in a hotel...nor have I ever used one in my life until this Hilton stay. I felt so healthy after using it for a month when leaving Rio. The Rio version of french toast is one of the best dishes I've ever had in Brazil; it's making my mouth water right now--I believe it's a specialty of the Hilton. Moacir and Little Vince(') was also one of the breakfast staff that made me feel welcome every morning with a big smile and offering coffee, while helping me to learn Portuguese. The buffet is well stocked with amazing fresh food. There are other staff at breakfast that I wish I had written their names down. You will love it. Thanks for the awesome stay! I hope to be back someday.
"Hilton Barra Rio,"
Execellent hotel and staff. Location is far out of the city and quite a distance from the nearest beach so not much in the local area. Shopping centre next door but not even a shop to buy some fruit or a pint of milk. The shuttle service to the beach was good but only a few runs a day and often full. The shuttle needs to run far more often e.g. 1100 bus full so the next is 1430! Great hotel and wonderful staff but the location is a bit disappointing for a family holiday.
This hotel is fantastic but a bit far from the center of Rio, clean room, pool is really nice, breakfast is outstanding and the staff very kind and helpfull, executive lounge is quite and good food is provided
"Excellent first visit to Rio"
A relaxing break with easy access to the sights of Rio. Great hotel with excellent service especially the staff in the executive lounge where families are welcomed. City tours available from the hotel - arranged by the concierge.
"A Very Good Place To Stay"
We were delighted with our stay at the Hilton Barra. Our accommodation was really nice with very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Good wi fi. Tea and coffee making facilities were excellent. The breakfast was outstanding with such a wide choice of fruits which we could use with the juice making machine. The staff were very helpful, especially the Concierge Desk who most certainly made our stay memorable. Pool Area on the roof lovely but was quite busy late afternoons. We particularly liked the complementary hotel shuttle service which took us to the shopping mall and the beach This hotel is situated around 25 minutes from downtown Rio but is a great place to stay with beautiful beach. It is a safe area with good facilities and nice green open spaces We were very happy to stay in Barra, transportation into town etc was no problem. A very good place to stay
