Tiny noisy bar with no fun to be had. When travelling it is nice to relax a little. Not possible in this place. Very small bar area. Inconvenient access to breakfast. Helpful staff but hotel offers little fun
"In need of renovation..."
Stayed at Hilton Beijing for 4 nights to see the historical sites. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and led to the front counter to check in. During check in, they asked us to upgrade to a "newer" tower and get free access to the executive lounge. Initially, turned them down since we were going to be out of the room most of the time sightseeing. When we entered the room, it was so old and worn out. There was a smell similar to an antique shop where old furniture is displayed. The workspace, bed, and furnishings were at least 10-12 years old. The bathroom was just as bad. Needless to say, we requested the upgrade and had to pay even more than our original booked price. Whether that was arranged by the hotel or not, the original room was really in disrepair and should not be offered to customers. The upgraded room was slightly better but not great. Decor was more modern and the things you would normally expect to have at a 5 star (even 4 star) hotel in China as a regular standard room is what this Hilton has to offer as an upgrade. In the immediate area, there is the Westin, Marriott, Kempinski that are much newer and given a standard room equivalent of an upgraded room at the Hilton. Disappointing to see the rooms like this and would be difficult to justify staying at this hotel again unless they do some renovations of the rooms.
"Time for a major overhaul"
The location of the Hotel is fine but looking around the building you see in many areas, that it is time for major overhaul of rooms and public areas. Shower heads, lamps etc. are not properly mounted. Sockets are loose, etc. For similar price you find better Hotels in the similar proximity, like the Crown Plaza Lido. Breakfast is good, but nothing fancy. Shower area in the gym areas is quite small, also loose parts there.
"Ann and staff were the best!!"
This was our first trip to China and did not speak any of the language. Ann who checked us in took such good care of us in selecting our room. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect room! The concierge was also Amazing! Jason and Matt :)
I read some of the reviews and I just want to say that my room, 537 was wonderful. The AC was strong. The staff are extremely friendly. The room is a good size. Those who complain about it being a small room...you are in a city with 22 million people...space is precious. The rooms are ample. We are high status with Hilton so our room is in the executive tower. The breakfast - excellent. The evening snack and cocktail - wonderful. They go above and beyond at this hotel. Love love love it and would come back and stay here!
