"Great hotel, my go-to place for visits to Boston Back Bay"
Stayed at the Hilton Back Bay several times over the past 9 months. The rooms are clean, modern, and well maintained. The location is convenient to the Green Line Hynes T stop. And the hotel is just steps away to the Prudential Shopping Center and Convention Center (you can cut through the Sheraton across the street if you're avoiding bad weather). Newbury Street and Boylston St restaurants are just blocks away. The staff is polite and friendly. I appreciated the lobby bar for a late snack or beverage. There is a tiny shop by the check in desk to purchase snacks and sundries. Elevators were quick. We had a corner room the first time which was cozy. We've also stayed in higher floor view rooms with gorgeous views of the Charles River. Will definitely stay here again.
"A good place to stay"
I chose to stay at this hotel because it was within walking distance to many thing; work, food, transportation, and friends who live in the city. I would stay in this location again if I were in the area for business.
"$420/night with Service Seriously Lacking"
This hotel takes advantage of the fact that there are insufficient hotel rooms in the area to accommodate the size conventions that Boston is able to land. I was attending a meeting at another hotel and decided to stay here, due to Hilton Diamond status. The physical plant is okay...a little dated...across from Prudential Center restaurants but a hike from Boston Common (requires taxi/uber). Rooms are decent size, upholstery on chaise lounge is threadbare, tiny bathroom with bathtub and insufficient ventilation. There is an indoor pool and hot tub but it closes at 10:00pm so unable after business dinners to use it (most Hilton's keep it open until 11 or 12). Where this hotel leaves little to be desired is the service (or lack thereof). Starbucks in the lobby is supposed to open at 6:30am. At 7:13am the manager Patrick was filling the cash drawer and the sign still said "closed." No coffee available anywhere in a Hilton Hotel and no Starbucks nearby... I asked the front office manager Samir about the hours and no apology...just a matter of fact...it is what it is. No coffee today...sometimes they just don't open the Starbucks on time. Per their excuses, it's not their fault. Nice attitude of accountability! So I left for my meetings with no coffee. For these prices, you can stay at a Ritz-Carlton in most markets...and get good service... I feel this Hilton takes advantage of a tight Boston hotel market...if there were rooms available elsewhere (I checked the app and there weren't) I'd leave early. Frankly Hilton should rip their name right off this place...it would be more appropriately branded something else.
"Pretty Good Stay"
We stayed here for a conference that was in the hotel. I can't give this a 4 or 5 since there are things that are average here. We stayed in a corner room that was spacious but there was plenty of room for a small sofa opposed the the solo chair that was provided. The bathroom is pretty small in relation to the room. The fitness gym, although spacious and plenty of equipment, was outdated and in need of repair and maintenance. Easy fixes, but, no one takes time to figure it out and take care of it. The bathroom that was by the conference room was not attended to all day and we were out of paper towels to dry our hands for the 2nd half of the day. The Diamond Club and Business Room were very nice. I think this can be a 4 or 5 with a strong maintenance team leader.
"Great Location and Nice Team "
Recently stayed over one night at this Hilton. They're remodeling, which was needed. I had a nice room on a high floor, and was happy with the amenities. The front desk team and the restaurant team a great.
