"Wonderful place to stay in Brussels"
We stayed in this hotel for two nights before we started a tour in Ghent. The location was fabulous! It is directly across the street from the Central Train Station and very close to the Grand Place. Our room was very nice and had a view of the steeples in Grand Place. We didn't pay for breakfast (it wasn't included) so we walked to nearby place in the Royal Galleries Hubert for coffee and croissants.
My husband and I stayed for four nights in April 2017. The location is excellent!! Across the road from the Brussels Central Station and a two minute walk to Grand Place. The executive lounge was wonderful and the staff were more than friendly and accommodating. The room was large with a nice desk and table. The shower large with a tub too. Nice powerful hair dryer for my thick hair. We'll definitely stay here again.
"The location is called Grand for a reason!"
HGP was a quick taxi ride from the Euro train station. The location was perfect, hotel rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. We are Hilton Diamond members, so we are used to many different lounges. The GP Exec Lounge was small, but comfortable and snack options were perfect. the morning breakfast buffet had all you would need to get you going and then some. The hotel bar was quaint and they pour up some really good drinks. We only had 2 days, but we really never left the Grand Place area. The place was stunning and basically took our breath away. We filled ourselves with Belgium nutella waffles and fresh baked pastries and of course chocolates. We could have spent 1 more day there no problem, but we made an impromptu trip while we were in London. We plan to go back for sure and take a trip to Antwerp while we are at it. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Side note: The Eurostar train was an easy option from London. Comfortable, no fuss way to travel between the countries.
"Needs the planned renovation but great staff"
I have stayed twice before and it's been OK but nothing to write home or TA about. Anyway this time it is I'm afraid. I have a room on the 5th floor, its spacious enough and equipped with a mini bar, tea and coffee stuff, a safe and a desk. The bathroom is also a good size but in need of a decorate and a damn good detailed clean. When I arrived there was a puddle of water on the vanity area around the sink, which is odd not to have been seen by the cleaner, there was toilet paper floating in the loo and the fridge in the minibar was not working. Then when I flushed the toilet to remove someone else's toilet paper the toilet just kept running. I went out for a run having mentioned the toilet to reception and when I returned the toilet was fixed. The shower is very good although the double door design ensures that when you've finished you're stepping into a shallow pool of your own shower water. When I left to head for dinner I told the receptionist about the issues and they kindly offered to move me to a different room and gave me an upgrade. This kind of customer service should be complimented, the poor maintenance and lack of attention to detail of the cleaning staff is quickly forgotten when you experience good customer service. The new king size room is much like the other but much larger and the bed is huge. Facing away from the central station is much nicer also as you have a much nicer view including the tops of the Grand Place towers. The station, front, view is less inspiring, noisy and currently includes military vehicles. The bar staff are friendly although the bar is not the most relaxing place in the world. They have a couple of large TV screens on which they were showing international football (soccer, as you'd imagine with the word 'international') but one is in the reception/lobby and the other in the restaurant. Please please please, a call out to all hotels; PEOPLE WANT PLUG SOCKETS NEXT TO THEIR BED, oh and it's not rocket science. Sadly it's not an option at the Hilton in central Brussels, grand place. The closest plug socket to the bed is about 12 feet, 3-4m from the bed. The bed was very comfortable. The shower in my new room was powerful but the head was broken so the floor was flooded with water which had sprayed over the screen. The hotel does not have parking but there is a 24 hour inter parking next door. The location of the hotel is great, 30 second walk from the central station which connects you to Gare Midi in one direction and the airport in the other. The grand place is a few minute walk away and well worth seeing.
"Beautiful hotel next to train station "
Excellent hotel right next to train station. Everything is within walkable distance. Do try the waffle served for breakfast. The hotel staff is very helpful. Use the map at hotel and enjoy your brussels stay.
